Contribute FeedbackSister's Rock restaurant, located in Borrodell Vineyard, offers stunning views and a lovely setting for a meal. The food is delicious, with highlights such as the Bread and Butter Pudding and cheese platter. However, some reviews mentioned that the service was slow and lacked confidence, while others felt that prices were high for the quality received. Despite these issues, the overall dining experience is pleasant with friendly staff and a picturesque location. In addition, special events such as the Gumboot and Truffle dinner offer a unique and well-planned dining experience. Sister's Rock is recommended for those looking to enjoy a leisurely meal in a beautiful setting.
We recently visited for the Gumboot and Truffle dinner. After the truffle hunt we enjoyed a fabulous five course meal accompanied by a wide selection of excellent Borrodell wines. My favourites were the seared tuna followed by the venison and from the wine list it was the Sparkling and Pinot Noir. The servings of truffle were generous as were the hosts Borry and Gaye. A terrific well planned evening.
We were a group of 13 for Sunday lunch. All our meals were delicious, especially the beef cheeks! The dessert portions were very generous and we had fantastic cheese boards to share at the end, as we enjoyed the views and the changing climatic conditions! We were outside, but under cover with a gas heater nearby. You're able to pick your own apples in the orchard adjoining the restaurant area, so kids were kept busy between courses. Sister's Rock is a great venue for a relaxing, long lunch!
The view here is very pretty and would be great in the warmer months sitting out the front on verandah with wine and cheese. I had heard that restaurant was fantastic but we thought the prices were high for the quality of the food. We don't mind paying higher prices but do expect to have perfection for it. Wine tasting seemed a bit rushed like the owner had more things to do and we are people that love to taste and buy.
Restaurant nicely located in Borrodell Vineyard - beautifully located with lovely views. Lunch was cheese platter and tiger prawn. - which were good but not exceptional. However, presentation of food was very good. Biggest disappointment was service. Whilst friendly, staff forgot to bring some items to table on a number of occasions. Disabled parking available and reasonable access for non-ambulant. In summary, an average lunch in a lovely location.
Beautiful location with views over the towack valley which was spectacular for a lunch occasion with a table of ten. The three kids had a great time picking apples while they waited for meals. Our entree arrived before sparkling wine we ordered, all the wines were lovely but if the service was better we would have ordered more wines. After a long wait our mains were only just warm and some cool. All three people who ordered the pork belly complained that it was chewy with no crackling! The apple pie desert was delicious, however I couldn't recommend the coffee. With so many fabulous places to eat in the Orange region I certainly won't be returning. It was a lovely day simply due to the company and spectacular views.
