Chef Jack is simply the most whimsical chef we’ve ever met. Chowder was divine! Parmesan custard made the Caesar Salad over the top delicious. Salmon over risotto sounds plain, but add Chef Jack’s touches and the entire experience is elevated to another level. Clam linguini was simple, yet delicious. Oh, and then desert. Each dish has a fun touch and flavor profile is off the charts delicious. Bistro is a must stop i... View all feedback.
What RFF Shoebox Packers doesn't like about Bistro:
Ordered several dishes. Two were good, two were not. Crab cake salty and dry. The special, halibut, two-finger width, $65 before tax and gratuity was bland, not the freshest. The worst was the service. When serving the table, the waitress came with a stack of clean dishes resting on her rib cage. She allocated the dishes by reaching over, her upper body hanging inches above the dishes. Gross. I checked my records. My... View all feedback.
This place is absolutely the real deal. I called a few days ahead to make a reservation for 2 to celebrate our 5 years anniversary. jj was friendly enough to have a bouquet of flowers on the table with a "happy anniversary" sign for us. they even put candles in our dessert! they made the night really much special and unforgettable. our two meal times were clearly carefully thought out and expertly executed. chef jack has a vision for what he wants to come out of this kitchen and it shows. that was the best meal we had both been moving here to oregon a few years ago. truly one of these rare meal times, where there is never enough bite on the plate and everyone is better than the last. if they are close to cannon beach, they will please one and take a meal here. From appetizer to dessert, they will be every bit of the way awestruck. Stellar service, rich aromen and intimate ambiente.
Chef jack cures a thoughtful and delicate menu. the hostess, jj, makes every moment of sitting through dessert so that they feel warm and unique. her combined gift for hospitality makes almost forget how incredible the food is. has become jack and its culinary skill. the chowder was full of taste. the cesar enchanted in the design and the hidden parmesan custard. the seafood linguini was sensational and perfectly balanced. Do not forget the cheesecake of the moment, it will want more. a unique delightful culinary experience, which is hospitable and kitchen enhanced.
If they were open, if they were advertised, I might have left a more detailed review. seems like a typical cannon beach itself pampered ruuraunt not the opportunity to serve the customer, or at least not waste our time from the city, just to find them closed for a private event. thanks for the waste of our time and gas!
I was already often in cannon beach and did not discover it until this time. had dinner with a friend and we really enjoyed the meal and reception of the host jj, the cook jake and our waiter's alley. we were brought fresh broth and crimped butter I love. there is a good selection of apps, but we both started with salates. my friend had a roman caesar with a Parmesan cruz and Parmesan cranz. I am indifferent to caesar, but it was good. she also enjoyed it. I had the rabid and cowardly salad. the apple and maple dressing was delicious. my friend had the Halibut special and I had the ahi tuna with seetangsalat. both were perfectly cooked and delicious. we were baked in dessert and had saffron cheesecake. in the bar area there was live music. we will definitely return.
Beautiful experience. Unique and refreshing approach to flavors, executed flawlessly. Knowledgeable staff, friendly owners and chef who sat down with us after dinner. Best part of our rainy spring trip!
