We went to this restaurant because of the reviews on Trip one lunchtime. Three of us went, we each chose a different meat, Beef kebab, Lamb Chops (slow cooked) and Chicken (again slow cooked). I realise for those experienced in couscous restaurants the next bit isn't relevant, what comes out is a large communal bowl of couscous, a large bowl of stewed vegetables and the meat on a separate dish. The fact we had all chosen different meats did allow us to try each other's choices, we all thought the experience was great and the food enjoyable.

The Maghreb has been around for almost forty years, a longevity which in Cannes means they must be doing something good. And for sure they do a really good couscous whose copiousness means you will never get to finish it.You might find cheaper, but you won't find the same value for money. The back room overlooking a tortoise haven garden is the more attractive one.One proviso, it can get mighty hot in the torrid summer months. Be prepared to consume vast quantities of rosé and ice cold water.......take the bottled stuff in both cases!Book in advance to guarantee a table.

Recommended by a friend and after a long search for a good couscous, we decided to go to try the couscous. I must say, congratulations to the owner and chef....It serves only couscous but they do it right. We opted for the lamb and chicken and the merguez one. For wine as we wanted to drink a rosê for lunch, we had the Cotes de Provence Bailli 2015 which was very fruity and weighted 13%, good to match the spicy ness of the couscous. What I liked very much, we received hot plates which shows a sign of good management. The couscous type was the fine semolina that's takes the taste of the vegetable broth immediately and is somehow easier to digest. The broth was exquisitely tasty and for once, the vegetables were still crunchy (if you need more semolina or broth, just ask). For dessert, we tried the pastries, some sweeter than others, to end up the lunch, the traditional mint tea. Prices are reasonable(93.5€ for 3, including wine, desserts and tea) for the top quality meal. We will be back for sure with other friends. Reservation recommended.

Friendly welcome, well-balanced meal, generous portions, attentive to the customer... there were 26 of us and we were going to a screening afterwards... the deadlines were met. My rating of 4 is simply because I have to leave room for chefs of fine dining, bistros, etc.
