The atmosphere is nice, the waitress is nice, we didn't wait long.

Having travelled in Asia, Sout... read more Dining here on our evening of our week long holiday in Cannes was the most demeaning experience we as a couple have ever endured. Having travelled in Asia, South America, South Africa, N America and most of Europe and dined in local restaurants in...these countries we have never been treated so rudley. As a middle age couple and with plenty of dining experience behind us we felt we were treated as inexperienced and stupid. We don't speak French but we showed the waiter what we wanted on the menu he didn't seem to understand, I would have thought in a place like Cannes that all restaurants would have some staff with knowledge of different languages but this one no .I'm not normally a person to pay much heed to other peope mannerisms people are who they are you accept that but we were of the strong opinion the staff in this rude and arrogant place were having a good laugh at our expense. The reason why we stopped at this place, they had a good fish menu. I would not recommend Chez Astoux.
