Reviews - Hogshead
Reviews summary
A casual dining spot in Canmore, Hogshead received mixed reviews. Guests loved the atmosphere, food like hogshead Caesar, and sidewalk patio for dog owners. However, some faced slow service, chewy fish, and burnt elk burgers. On a positive note, drinks and dish discounts were appreciated. The breakfast was praised for hot and tasty dishes, and the lunch spot is ideal for a relaxed meal while watching the world go by on Main Street. Overall, a spot to consider especially for breakfast or lunch, with friendly staff and a cozy vibe.

We stopped in for a bite to eat while shopping downtown Canmore. We were seated at an amazing table right on main street , it was a beautiful sunny day, and alot of action people watching downtown! The manager served us and made sure our drinks were never empty! My boyfriend and I both decided to have the fish & chips and what a good choice that was! The breading was perfectly golden , and the fish still tender and m... View all feedback.
What Gabe Brekke dislikes about Hogshead:
My first overall impression of the name turned me off buuuuut it turned out pretty good. The children's menu was decent. The burgers are real beef patties, their salads were fresh. The drink menu was great! If your travelling with your dog it's a great place to go because you can eat outside on the sidewalk patio and are allowed to tie your dog up on the outside. I would eat here again if I was brining the kids and p... View all feedback.

Went here at 9 pm and had a good while boar sandwich with a tasty draft beer suggested by the friendly waitress/bartender. We also tried the fish sandwich which was tasty. The side salad was very flavorful and imaginative. They also serve great breakfasts. The best was hoppy with a citrus touch.
We were looking for a satisfying breakfast before heading to our next destination and we definitely found one here. The server was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was fresh, hot, and hearty. It was the perfect way to kick off a long journey.
The elk burger was burned, and the second one was well done and dry. The waitress acknowledged that the elk was dry but did not seem to be too concerned about it.
Our first meal in town We were hungry We walked in here and were welcomed Staff was friendly and attentive.
Off the plane the day before, we were desperately in need of breakfast but we were late up. We asked a lady who was doing flower tubs in the town and she recommended this restaurant as the only one that would be serving breakfast items later on. Thanks for that- it was great! There are tables outside and the menu was super. Eggs benedict and cooked breakfasts were hot and tasty. My only complaint was there was only 1 girl serving and she was really bust so ordering took ages. She served a table before us that arrived after us- annoying. She was cheerful and friendly though. I would recommend breakfast here, at least. Good location.
