Reviews - Communitea Cafe
Reviews summary
Nestled in Canmore, this restaurant delights with its extensive vegan and vegetarian offerings, earning praise for dishes like the vegan breakfast VLT panini and exceptional mushroom soup. While many guests commend the friendly, vibrant atmosphere and the staff’s willingness to accommodate dietary needs, concerns arise over inconsistent service and food safety protocols. Customers have reported allergic reactions and incorrect orders, leading to dissatisfaction with staff attitudes. Despite the mixed reviews on service and pricing, the quality of food shines through, showcasing homemade vegan sauces and a commendable selection for gluten-free diners, making it a spot worth visiting for adventurous eaters.

Super lekker! Very delicious buddha bowl, gluten-friendly with avocado. The dressing was tasty and we will come back. Also the chickpeas were prepared very well. Real treat to eat. View all feedback.

I came to Communitea Cafe a few times over the course of a weekend in Canmore. The food I ordered came incredibly cold and the service was surly and unfriendly. The people who work here seem like they hate their jobs are are irritated with you for darkening their door. This was unfortunate, as the general atmosphere is actually really lovely and it could be a nice place. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20
This place was great! We got dinner here one night and it was delicious! There are vegan and non-vegan options, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I especially loved the clean up station that had places for the used dishes and items that could be composted. What a great idea! I wish more restaurants did that. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Recently relocating to Canmore, my top priority was finding the best coffee spot. However, upon entering this café with the intention of just grabbing a coffee to go, I ended up ordering food as well. The café has an open and almost summery vibe, making it a beautiful spot to enjoy a healthy and delicious meal. I was thoroughly impressed by the friendly staff who clearly take pride in their work. The high-quality ingredients and the effort put into each dish and coffee truly shines through, with the Vanilla Latte being a standout with a perfect score of 10/10.
I visited this restaurant for a cappuccino on a beautiful sunny day. The atmosphere was lively with many people. They offer a great variety of food and drinks. The ambience is pleasant and there is plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. The coffee was delicious and reasonably priced compared to other cafes in the area. However, the wait time was a bit long due to the limited staff. Overall, the restaurant could benefit from hiring more employees.
My family and I came to this restaurant for dinner after a day at Lake Louise. We ordered meals for our kids, including chicken quesadillas, a Buddha bowl, a green curry bowl, and a Buddha bowl with chicken. The chicken in my dish wasn't breast meat, which was a bit disappointing, but the flavor was excellent. My wife had the delicious Green curry. When we finished our meal, we realized we never received the soup of the day, so I asked for a refund. It was 6:30 and the restaurant wasn't busy. They also offer a great selection of teas. We tried the Wild Tea kombucha, which was delightful. We are on our way to Calgary and plan to stop by the Wild Tea Kombucha brewery to stock up. Overall, it was a great experience aside from the missing soup. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing everything! My wife and I spent a week traveling the Canadian Rockies and experienced some delicious meals as well, but nothing sparked joy quite like our brunch at Communitea!

Such a lovely modern place, food tasted great, and of course a bit pricy taking the fact portions did not have protein portions, you have to order them separately for additional fees. Pad thai was
Only thing lacking is a touch more affordability on the pricing. Otherwise, very very nice stop. Happy you were open til 7pm on Saturday. Service was remarkable.
Best BLT sandwich in Canmore. Don't forget to add cheddar for unforgettable breakfast experience. I wasn't even able to make a photo of untouched sandwich as it was too tempting. The staff and atmosphere also was good, but don't forget that you are here for this awesome
Super friendly employees and super delicious food : I went here about a month ago for breakfast and got the lavender lemonade which was very refreshing and the vegan breakfast burrito. There are lots of vegan options and the atmosphere of the restaurant was super nice and peaceful, I highly recommend if you happen to be in the area!

Mmmm! Best food ever! Everything tasted so delicious, staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was fun and upbeat so... we had to come back the very next day to try even more off the menu. LOVE this place ! Will definitely be back and...tell everyone about it!!
Also for children are sandwiches $12.5. Portions are not small, but a grilled cheese with corn? I know Canmore's not a cheap city, but wow. Adult shares are around $20. Again, Tortilla chips and a Burrito. Not sure worth the price.
We were driving back from Peyto Lake and wouldn't get to Calgary till late. So, we stopped and had dinner here. They were about to close so, we ordered and ate outside while they put their chairs and tables away. The staff was friendly and...knowledgeable. The menu had a decent variety on it. All of us enjoyed our meals that came in good sized portions. I'd certainly recommend the Cafe to anyone looking for healthy food in Canmore.
We come here every time we go to Canmore. The Pad Thai is something I look forward to the moment I leave Calgary : delicious and fun. There is a green space around the corner with picnic tables that we often eat at.
Was in Canmore and was hungry and wanted something on the healthy side so for the avocado toast. I added the bacon and it was delicious!! Came with one side of popcorn I loved. Also the pomegranate and blackberry tries to drink... that they make in the house and it was delicious!! The restaurant was clean and service was super friendly. Very recommended!! You want to be disappointed

Omg, this place was so good. it was healthy, but filling and delicious. they had arranged a lot of bowls and beautified. at least 3 gf desserts, a children's menu and many different warm and icy drinks.
Great option to breakfast or caffe! almost everything can be made gluten-free, including gf packaging available, and the personal seemed very good knowledgeable.
Communitea is a nice place to stop by for some healthy eats pre or post hike. The avocado toast was pretty basic and pricey but did the job. There are also bowls, wraps, and sandwiches available. I recommend going between 11am 7pm as there are a lot more GF options than on the breakfast menu. The cashier said they have a "celiac" button to alert staff to take extra precautions when preparing meals.
Loved my experience here I went with my whole family. My kids got the kids meals which where great. They where extremely nice and knowledgeable about me being celiac and lactose intolerant! Loved the food and macha! They also have separate and marked tongs for the baked goods in the glass. The seemed to be very caring about allergies and autoimmune. Super awesome for a quick bite as well and they have to go options great if your just going through town extra.
