Simple but very authentic atmosphere, excellent quality of meat and wine. Well frequented, nice mixture of guests. A place where you want to be and all for very reasonable prices. An example: A skewer with meat, mixed beef and linguicas, 3/4 litre of wine, a Larangada and bread, all together 17 €. Three people were happy and satisfied. We will be there again very soon! If you like to immerse yourself in the local culture when you go on holiday, you'll love this place. At the front is a butcher's shop. At the back is where the experience begins. Order your steak or chicken or sausages at the butcher's and...they skewer it for you on the Madeiran sword like kebab skewers. The sword has a number tag (remember this bit) you then take it to the back of the shop where you will find a bar and the huge fire pit. Give your sword' to the pit boss and he will barbecue your food for you. Standing with the locals with a glass of wine in hand you then use your fingers to remove your freshly cooked food, wrap it in a little local bread and enjoy. This is a must do for so many reasons and I'd recommend it for a mid day meal. We were there around 2pm and the place was buzzing with locals. One of those holiday experiences you will never forget.
A sobremesa é incrível. Extremamente limpo.
