This restaurant is quite extraordinary. The outside is clean and simple and the inside clean and typically decorated for this region of Spain. However, the food and service is that of a high class and top restaurant from a major city like Paris, Madrid or New York. We had the most fantastic experience an and phenomenal meal and we cannot recommend Restaurant L’Anglasse enough. To all……you will not be at all disappointed.
We stopped here for lunch during a visit tothe amazing Canfranc station...We had a really good lunch, beautifully presented, (the fish was scrummy) all was delicious, unfussy and just good.. charming staff.. and very good value, what's not to like..
Great presentation of tasty food with friendly service at a very acceptable price. Would eat there again without the slightest hesitation. They catered for a vegetarian without any hassle. Despite my Spanish being appalling, by connecting to their Wi-Fi (4G/3G coverage is hit and miss) allowed me to Google what was on the menu.
Having been an avid fan of this restaurant for many years I have to now admit the love affair is over. We were here in January and had a poor meal, i put it down to a ‘bad day’. Having been desperate to get back to Spain since lockdown, first stop my favourite restaurant. Boo Hoo, disappointment doesn’t describe it. I understand the constraints of The difficulties presented by social distancing, however, the food was downright mean. Poor portions, poor quality, mediocre house wine etc. The bead remains as wonderful as always. I have just read recent reviews to find a change of ownership. All now falls into place. Sadly I will not be visiting again.
We stopped at this place after visiting the Canfranc station and loved it. They open at 13:00 and i think we were the first ones in the restaurant but it quickly got crowded. Service was pretty quick and friendly. We went for the 20 EUR menu including a first pastel de boletus, empanada de alcachofas, salad and risotto all were very good but the empanada and risotto stood out), a second big steak of entrecot with French fries), desert drinks water and the wine of the house which was pretty good). Great value for money. I would return if in the area.
