This place has an amazing collection of dishes on its menu from different East Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines. As appetizer, my wife and I both ordered Thay Soup, which was delicious. I could have definitely had a larger bowl of the soup as the main dish. Very well-seasoned and balanced! For the main dish, we ordered Fish Curry and Oseng Oseng Daging with shrimp. The Fish Curry was delicious and very well prepared. The fish was cooked perfectly and was very delicate and succulent. The banana-coconut rice that accompanied it was also very tasty. Oseng Oseng Daging was very delicious as well. For dessert, we ordered Delícia de Shiva, worrying that a wasabi ice cream could be too intense. That dessert was off the hook... just brilliant! The only complaint we could have was that it was a particularly cold night, and inside the restaurant was very cold. The delicious food definitely did get our mind off the cold though.

Although we didn't expect to find a great Asian restaurant in Canela, we absolutely did in Galangal. We are now regulars, eating their at least once every two weeks. We found - both the hot dishes and the sushi - have always been very fresh and very tasty. If you like Asian food, then be sure to give galangal a try when you are in Canela!!

Absolutelly fantastic. I have been in many exotic places in Brazil and Galangal is one of those which the smell and the treatment is just about to be perfect. It serves not regional food which for some might well be a better choice if you are into eastern flavours. There is no kids place but my 4 year old daughter loved it anyway. Thai, Japanese and Chinese smells and flavours in good amount.

A hidden treasure in Canela!! We are retired and live in Canela since 2012. We passed in front of Galangal many times, always thinking that an Asian restuarant in Canela can't be that good. After almost a year passed, and hearing very positive comments from our friends, we finally decided to give Galangal a try. Oh ... How we were wrong! Galangal is simply fantastic, with a great oriental atmosphere and excellent Asian food. We have been back many times .....And it is always a great experience! The menu includes cuisine from Thailand, Indonesia, India and Japan ... Inclusive of excellent sushi! We normally select a number of appetizers and plates to share amongst the table. This is a restaurant not to miss when you visit Gramado and Canela!!
