I met a friend for brunch on Sunday. The restaurant was busy but I didn't wait long for a table. I ordered raisin bread french toast with brie cheese, blueberries, granola and yogurt, and a mango smoothie. We were both happy with the service and the food and the bottomless cups of coffee. We will definitely go back. View all feedback.
What Cookie M doesn't like about Ben & Florentine:
This chain of restaurants serves breakfast....very, very sweet breakfast, thus my rating hovered between 3 4. Unless you want the bacon eggs that is. Very clean place good service View all feedback.
My kids and I went to Ben Florentine and honestly never again. The portions are too big. The sauces for some of its egg based dishes... too fatty. But if you have a huge appetite, and you're not watching what your eating, then you'll be well served.
Breakfast restaurants are really popular everywhere in Quebec. But if you want something special and different, avoid going to breakfast restaurant chains. We really found our experience at Ben Florentine disappointing. I expect to enjoy a quality breakfast for the price of 15$ but i found in my plate ordinary ingredients and food i can easily find anywhere. Boring with no inspiration. Though the menu had many choices, the photos were a lot better than reality. I can do a lot better at home. Look for one of those independent restaurants, you'll have a better experience.
It is good place. The portions are not huge if you have a big appetite you might get disappointed. The waitresses are not very into it for the couple of times I went
Party of 9, made reservations, waited at least 20-30 minutes to seat. They (waitress) changed where we sat to move another family to another table after they had already settled in with small children then sat us. waited 10 min to be offered coffee and enough menus for all of us. I ordered vegetarienne omelet with asparagus, and refill of coffee. My order came last the first person was already finished meal. Had to ask for coffee refill. Checked omelet and there was no asparagus and it was under cooked. I asked the waitress and she said that they would make me a fresh one, by this time I am very hungary 5-6 min later waitress brings me a plate with 5 yes 5 asparagus on it and says I can put it in my omelet. Not impressed. No compensation was offered, no refill of coffee although the guest beside me was offered I had to ask again. Would I recommend this place, no. I thought I had ordered a simple dish, I would make my own. Sorry but it was not a pleasant experience. The smoothie was the only thing I really enjoyed all though expensive. My order was $30 for 2 of us.
Fancy brunch and pretty good food...cost is a little steep and the service is typically very good. Will be back.
