Amazing fresh food, friendly service, great prices! Loved the ceviche! Our server was super sweet since my friend has a shellfish allergy, kitchen was very accommodating. View all feedback.
Selva Bonita is authentic: excellent enchiladas with mole or red or green sauce; generous serving of guacamole; fresh orange juice and a hapy woman manager, Maria Pizano. Easy acces, reasonable prices. No reservations needed. Traditional decor.
We found this place after a morning of cave diving in the Cenotes near Tulum, we had stopped at the OXXO convenience store for a cold drink but the parking lot was full and we parked in front of the Selva Bonita Cafe. The owner and his espousa greeted us and we took a seat under the large front porch. The Cafe, more of a restaurant, was only three months old and the building was new as well, Google maps still shows a vacant lot. Three pages of menu items including breakfast items, pizza, Mexican dishes and American favorites like hamburgers gave amble selection. We had tamales con pollo (corn meal with chicken wrapped in a corn husk) black bean and cheese nachos, and quesadillas with chicken in a spicy verde or green sauce. Yummy! The next day we tried the pizza and although the sausage looked remarkably like sliced hot dogs, the taste was great.
