And it was just plain terrible) but they took it off our check. The lobster choices were great and varied and the use of native peppers was awesome! Not spicy but robust in flavor! Locale dishes and fresh fish didn't disappoint and the filet mignon was juicy and tender! A little pricey but certainly worth it.

Fred's has never failed to disappoint, whether it was a dinner before a night out for a bachelorette party, a dinner with friends, or a date, Fred's has always come through and delivered! The palapas outside are amazing if you would like to have a nice private dinner feel. I highly 1recommend it, although maybe call to make a reservation since they tend to book up fast! The food is to die for, whether it is their sharing appetizers that are greatly portioned or their main courses, probably one of the best places for food in Cancun, and may I add that it is very reasonably priced for the quality of the food!! Don't even get me started on the many selections of amazing cocktails they offer, from the Kiwi Mojito, to the Espresso Martini's, made at table side, you just can't help yourself but order another after another after another... But the most important part is their amazing staff who make you feel so welcome, and so at home.. Our waiter Jose spoke such amazing english and had such great knowledge about each meal, and was so careful with any allergies.. Their managers Dino & Bernardo were so caring and were constantly coming to check up on our group and make sure that everything was running smoothly, I cannot thank the three of them enough times as they made our experience that much over the top!! Would seriously recommend going to pay them a visit

We arrived 5 minutes prior and there was a Black Family of five who were ahead of us and the restaurant was fairly empty. The hostess asked them where they would like to sit, the said outside...and were shown to their seat. My friend who made the reservation approaches the desk, gives her name and immediately she's asked what hotel we're staying at. The restaurant is NOT on the property of any hotel, so that was a weird question. She tells them and we're asked if we would like to sit inside or outside, we say outside and are shown to our table. You guessed it, it's in the BACK, where upon arrival ALL the Black people were seated. As for the dinning experience trash or as they say basura! 1. The lighting is horrible. 2. The food is average at best 3. The waiters and when I say waiters I mean like 5 of them came to our table and then while we ate stood there and WATCHED US! The manager I presume came to our table 3 times in a 45 minute timeframe to ask how was the food, after we told him everything was fine. 4. From the audience we had garnered one of them, tried to take my plate before I had finished and when told I wasn't done just stood there waiting like an idiot and 5 minutes later asked again if I was done and then took my plate. 5. We asked for the check, it was brought post haste and they stood there all 5 of them as we paid. It's as if we were in a zoo mind you the whole time there was a white family across from us and did not receive any of the service we did. We were charged 280 pesos for water and paid per bill and left. On our way out of the restaurant no one said good night or even acknowledged us. It was thee WORST dining experience we've had being here in Mexico and we ate at the buffet on the way to the chichen Itza. For those who may read this and say WE must have done something, we did. We were Black. If you are Black don't go here, you'll be seated in the back and they treat you like a zoo animal.

Jorge and Carlos were so accommodating to every need to make our dinner so special. The service was the icing on the cake. They were a great team and took such good...care of us. Wonderful place for family and friends to share special moments, The shrimp was excellent
