Contribute FeedbackTilley's in Canberra offers a charming atmosphere with a mix of positive and negative reviews. Customers appreciate the reasonable pricing and friendly staff, with some enjoying the food and service while others criticize the quality and speed of service. The venue's dark decor and worn furnishings were highlighted, along with some complaints about specific dishes. However, many patrons praise the overall dining experience, atmosphere, and expansive menu options. The establishment is noted for its relaxed and welcoming environment, catering to a diverse range of clientele and offering a variety of food and drink options. Live music events and outdoor seating add to the appeal of this long-standing Canberra establishment.
A hand reliable local. Last night I was in a good mood. The salt and pepper squid, the quick service, sweet potato chips and white wine all good. But expensive.
Not a bad place to eat...unfortunately of the 3 mains that we ordered 2 were ok ..do yourself a favour and flick the pizza - thick base basic sauce small serve and overpriced ..disgusting...you can get better out of a box....other than that the booths were great. .service fine..and plenty of room.
This is my local so any excuse to visit! I love the atmosphere, food, service and generally other clientele. Formerly a women's only venue, Tilley's has evolved over 30 years to be a safe and comfy haven for all comers from breakfast through to late at night. One of the rare places kids are welcome. The atmosphere is dark, glossy, welcoming and intimate in spite of the venue itself being relatively large - licensed to seat up to 270 inside and 200 outside. Seating includes booths, bench seating and retro cafe chairs - all painted black. Comfort is the order of the day. Coffees, cocktails, milkshakes or wine. My food favourites carrot cake sans cream and ice cream, vegetable curry, sweet potato fries with sweet chilli and sour cream dipping sauce, a bowl of vegetable spring rolls. The waiting staff all wear white shirts, ties and black pants. Dress code for everyone else is open and eclectic. I often see cyclists, retirees, mums and kidlets, neighbours and others. So glad this is my local, love it in all 4 seasons!
We went with friends who go there very often. From the moment we entered Tilly’s, everything about it was pleasant and the atmosphere was alive. A warm, welcoming feeling and the place was buzzing. People playing cards, some reading or on the laptop etc. and lots of eating and drinking, as you would expect. The menu is not huge, but we selected from the blackboard; 4 dishes, all good. The pulled duck was amazing, as was the pork belly. A good selection of wines, and a port to finish the meal. We enjoyed it so much, we went back on the Saturday night, and enjoyed the entertainment by the ‘resident’ band. Very good. Food equally as good and had all the dishes from the blackboard.Overall, the food was fantastic, the staff very friendly, and the service very good. A nice place to be this time of the year in Canberra. Out of the cold.
Been coming here for over 30 years when ever in Canberra The food is good and well pricedThe coffee and cake is I dare say the best in Canberra The atmosphere is such that you can go with others or comfortably go alone I don't think it's like a pub , it is a very relaxed and special place
