Some diners have complained about subpar breakfast offerings and lackluster service, while others have praised the cozy atmosphere and delicious food options, such as the pan-roasted salmon and barley risotto. The pricing of drinks has been a point of contention, with some feeling that they were overpriced. Overall, The Loft offers a unique dining experience worth trying, especially for those looking for a quality meal in a laid-back setting.
An unexceptional breakfast with coffee that was one of the worst in town. So, so disappointed. Have given this potentially fantastic venue two chances now having tried dinner last week... had to go and ask for service from one of the 5 staff having a confab behind the bar. We were one out of two tables dining (same this morning). Won't be back.
Is it a ringing endorsement of a pub when its best features are its drinks and hot chips ? I thought their Haloumi burger came deconstructed due to the the ingredients falling out everywhere when picked up. Soggy mayo soaked salad mix just added to the mess. Chunky chewy haloumi just could not be eaten in the same mouthful with gooey itsy-bitsy salad bits. Dish served did not match description in the menu or I would have passed. Hot chips that accompanied the meal was the best part of the meal - piping hot, crunchy on outside, tender inside with the right amount of salting. Seems like they have a high turnover of chips so quality is good. Lesson learned. Pubs are not good for vegetarians or vegan - unless you want to feast on hot chips and nuts
For just a pub to visit and have a drink it is ok. However we went for a meal and found the food terrible, not normally fussy eaters, we both couldn't eat our meals and abandoned them. Perhaps we should have stuck with pub staples like burgers or pizza for a less disappointing experience.
Nice pub to have a beer and grab some food. Recommend going on the specials nights. Great selection of beer, myself and my partner had the stout pie and fish and chips, little disappointed with the pie, lacked flavour and maybe a little small for $20, the fish was pretty good though. Will go back and give it another try!
Sat on Tuesday evening for dinner while the personal heaps was kindly enthusiastic, was not eating that came out. I make the rookie error in ordering the $58 wagyu steak (scot fillet cut), and it was all that the money was not worth. it tasted like a $30 steak best, but a careful attempt to choke all the words on the menu, the fries had no apron, I could not recognize the smoked garlic thymian and the lemon served as a wedge on the side actually a saving gnade to the otherwise lukewarm, frozen piece of oily meat on a plate. the button of the wobble butter served at the top confused me, it was not good. cold cut twill in butter did not want to help. the only reason why this review had no star was because I actually had a decent meal here and my partner ordered the schinitzel. I think there is a carving night people coming here for cheap carvings, they are oversized, but as advertised only simple pubs roving kitchen find difficult to lay down. if you find yourself in the neighbourhood, my recommendation is for a cheaper, well-known amount and really hope that the wagyu from the menu soon.
