Feedback
This restaurant has received a mixed bag of reviews. Some customers have been impressed by the delicious and creative dishes, friendly service, and top-notch coffee selection. However, a common complaint seems to be the slow service and disorganization, with some customers having to wait excessively long for their meals. Some also noted issues with the quality of the food, such as cold and bland dishes or dry meat. The service has been described as lacking in customer focus, with some customers feeling neglected or disrespected. Overall, while the restaurant has its perks, it seems that improvements can be made in terms of service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
I went there with a few colleagues. The service was fast and nice. The meal was somewhat mixed. I ordered the slow cooked lamb leg. The meat was a bit on the dry side, but I loved the mushroom and the egg and all the greens. However, the bread was also a bit too greasy and sweet. I decided not to eat the bread as otherwise, the meal would have tasted completely differently. Might be a question of individual preference. I also ordered coffee which was nice. Parking: Ideally, you should look for a parking spot in the parallel street, it’s really hard to get a parking spot in the same street as the cafe.
Amazing food, staff was so nice and definitely will be coming back Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Worst experience we have ever had at a cafe. Waited over an hour for food without any warning that there was a queue. We asked one waitress how long our food would be after already waiting an hour, she said it would be ‘some time’ still. Asked for specifics and she said 5-10mins. We wait another 20-30 minutes before our food finally came, one meal literally being two pieces of toast (one burnt and the other raw) and a side of avo. The entire cafe was clearly getting antsy waiting for their food, so this wasn’t an original experience. The food was awful. We went up to pay and they immediately told us we would get our drinks for free- the girl at the till was clearly the only person with customer service skills in the whole place. Honestly, we would have rather paid for the drinks and not the food, as the drinks were fine and came quickly. We asked for the manager and he had been sitting on the coffee machine the whole time, watching everyone else get progressively more agitated without coming out onto the floor to say anything or check on waiting tables. He was completely unhelpful, telling us sorry the kitchen had ‘messed up today’ and that they make the drinks but the kitchen just do their own thing. Funny, you would think as a manager your responsibilities should extend to keeping every section of the restaurant accountable. Completely uninterested an unapologetic. We could’ve been halfway back to Sydney in the time we wasted on this place.
Specifically stated I was celiac/GF, the server said all I could order was eggs on toast. Then came back to confirm my order. Then proceeded to serve me regular bread and thank goodness I remembered to confirm my meal. When my eggs on toast finally arrived, the GF toast was barely toasted, small and very soggy from what I’m assuming is the pot water. Not a great experience :
Menu is mainly different style eggs. The menu is NOT marked with GF options but the menu does state can meet all dietary needs. Having said that, when I asked about both styles of potatoes offered, the server mentioned they are not fried in a dedicated fryer. They do have GF bread though. Coffee was great!
