It rivals any restaurant I've di... read more This is undoubtedly the best Japanese restaurant in Canberra, and quite possibly one of the best I've ever visited, hands down. It rivals any restaurant I've dined at in Tokyo, and I've been to many. I should mention that the flavors here may not align perfectly with traditional Japanese cuisine, which might not appeal to purists and pretenders alike. Nonetheless, it stands out as one of the finest dining spots in Canberra. Owner and chef Hao-san is truly impressive here.

I took my family out for a special occasion, and they truly made us feel welcomed. For some of my family members, it was their first experience with Japanese cuisine, and they were absolutely amazed by both the quality of the food and the exceptional service we received. We had a few special requests, and not only did they accommodate us, but they did so with great care. I can't recommend RAKU enough. Thank you to everyone there for a memorable night!
