This is a hidden gem, we had devonshire tea which is like a mini high tea, cost was $25pp. Service was excellent. I would definitely go back to Cafe Societea. View all feedback.
What Angelo Johns doesn't like about Café Societea:
Change of Management and quality of food is drastically down from our previous visit.
I had a BLT. I don't believe they are sourcing their produce from the other Griffith stores.
The bread roll (hot dog bun) was stale and the filling was vastly outweighed by the bun.
My friend had the classic breakfast and was really looking forwards to the chipotles. Unfortunately they were pre-cooked before being warmed or cooked... View all feedback.

It is not easy to find this place, it is embedded in a shopping strip with only one door and one shield. we would have gone by directly, except there were some tables and chairs out there that signaled there was a caffe here. they go down a narrow flur to the caffe itself. it is a very 'maid' place with a lot of beautiful porcellan on the display they do many high tees apparently. we ordered both eier benedict, one with gluten-free toast. my only handle was that it took a really long time to get our food, and since the place didn't seem so busy, I don't know why that was, but it was delicious.
The change of administration and quality of food has drastically declined from our previous visit. I had a blt. I don't think they're getting their products from the other Griffith stores. the brotrolle (hot dog rolls) was stabbed and the filling was mainly due to the bungalow. my friend had the classic breakfast and was looking forward to the chipotles. Unfortunately, they were precooked before they were reheated or cooked, so were dry and hard. There was also a time interval of about 15 minutes between us, which received our meals. regrettable if we were together.
While I had no trouble with the food and service at Cafe Societea, I was deeply offended by the cardboard cutout caricature of a figure in blackface (essentially a gollywog) that was quite prominent upstairs. My partner spoke to the owner about why this was an incredibly racist item to have, but was assured that it was not racist and was in fact a collectible item . They later agreed to 'take it home ', so hopefully it will no longer be present at the cafe. I 'm sure that the owners did not do this intentionally, and were unaware of the extreme racial connotations, but it was a very confronting and upsetting thing to look at and I sincerely hope that they do remove it.
Missed opportunity. I entered this place for a quick take-away coffee on a Saturday morning having never heard of it before. As soon as I walked in I decided to sit in and have something small to eat. The tiny kitchen where 3-4 people squeeze in was quite quirky and charming and it made me want to try something. As I wasn't particularly hungry, I opted for a simple ham and cheese croissant, grilled and a cafe latte. The service was okay and the latte was also decent enough for its inflated price. What was a big let down was the meal itself. While paying $11 for a simple ham cheese croissant I would at the very least expect good quality ingredients. The croissant was not very fresh and...read more
