Buvette - Canberra
Buvette
Description
The reviews for the restaurant paint a mixed picture, with some diners finding the food and service to be lacking while others praising the quality and ambiance. One customer was disappointed with the lukewarm food and mediocre coffee at the buffet breakfast, while another found the steak to be average and the decor to be impersonal. However, there were also rave reviews about the sophisticated atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious dishes. From escargot and steak tartare to confit duck leg and scotch fillet steak, some diners had a memorable dining experience at the restaurant. Overall, while some guests may have had a less than satisfactory experience, others found the restaurant to be a great choice with opulent food and a well-mannered staff.

Here are my ratings: - Food: 5/5 - Service: 5/5 - Atmosphere: 5/5 For meals, expect to spend around A$80–100 per person. I highly recommend trying the Grilled Prawns with Garlic and Chilli Butter—absolutely delicious!
The food was enjoyable, though my steak had a fair amount of fat and was somewhat tough. The cocktails were quite good. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$160–180 Food: 4 stars Service: 4 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars
--- **Dine-In Experience** **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price per Person:** A$80–100 **Food:** 3/5 The food was decent, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. While some dishes had potential, others fell flat. **Service:** 3/5 The service was average. The staff were polite, but the attentiveness could have been better. **Atmosphere:** 2/5 The atmosphere was lacking. It felt a bit uninviting and could use some improvements to create a more enjoyable dining experience. Overall, while the meal had its highlights, there are several areas that could be enhanced for a more satisfying experience.
Disappointingly average. Food was presently nicely, and most ingredients were of good quality but the actual dishes just thoroughly lacked French flavour. More time it appears was spent on presentation than the actual delivery of flavour. There was some sloppy pouring of drinks too, one beer had in excess of 2 of head. The desserts were at least redeeming the earlier food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$140–160 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Was in Canberra for a weekend and staying at the Hotel Realm so we decided to utilise the hotel French restaurant, Buvette, and it was the most special meal I have had in a long time. The customer service was exceptional and we felt special and considered and treated the whole evening. The food was wonderful and we shared scallops and I enjoyed the Barramundi brodetto with sourdough which was followed up with shared Paris-Brest. A really very lovely evening I would love to repeat when next in town! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$100–120
