We have been here quite a few times so I was apprehensive at first to see that the menu has changed and our favourite seafood plate was gone. The restaurant had a nice quiet ambience. There was a wide variety to choose from. We ordered the pork belly, the salmon and lamb rump. The dishes were very good although the lamb rump was a bit too salty. View all feedback.
What Ayana Conroy doesn't like about Binara One:
binara one is the modern in-house bar at crowne plaza and apart from a great wine card and cocktails they have recently also launched a brand new menu of bar snacks, share plates, burgers and hot dogs. View all feedback.
Service was excellent. Food was all fine. (Although I don't think I have yet been to a hotel restaurant, for breakfast, that had a motorised toaster, which toasted the bread, close to how I like it).
We went here for our anniversary dinner and hadn't made a booking but the restaurant was quiet (a Sunday night). My husband got the roast lamb which he said was great and I got the gnocchi which wasn't so great (deep fried mashed potato covered in rocket, not really gnocchi). The staff were fantastic though, they didn't charge us for the gnocchi and offered to replace the uneaten meal too. Unfortunate situation but handled very well.
We stayed at the hotel with our family and had dinner
We were here for diner on the long weekend of June. Being part of the Truffle festival in Canberra, we really enjoyed our meals. The food was excellent and would recommend and the price was reasonable.
It's a Hotel restaurant so, from experience, it is likely to be underwhelming, and yes it was. The decor is reasonably flat and lifeless. Sombre tones, subdued lighting and dark laminate style tables without linens make it visually unappealing. However the menu is comprehensive enough to give most customers a reasonable choice, albeit predictable and conservative. It's not fine dining, and it doesn't pretend to be. Just good basic food served in a traditional style.Servings are reasonable in size but presentation is only average. In fairness, we gordered Beef Tenderloins (Rib Eye fillet anywhere else) cooked medium rare and it came out perfectly. Could not fault it at all. Just wonderful.Service is adequate but staff are not very engaging with customers. The wine list is ok but limited in varietal/brand selection. It's not a bad experience, but then it's nothing outstanding either. A simple mid range restaurant experience at a reasonable price would best describe it. Convenient if your staying at the hotel too!
