I ordered a Rickard's Red beer, Fish and Chips with a coleslaw salad, and 1 lb of curry cream mussels. Coleslaw salad tastes good. It gives me an appetite to eat more. Curry Cream Mussels, it comes with bread to dip the sauce. The mussels are good in general and the curry cream is not too bad, slightly salty to my taste. It's good that the mussels are not over cooked. Fish and Chips are good but it can be more crispi... View all feedback.
What Sam G doesn't like about Jay's House Of Beer:
Came here for a girl friend's birthday dinner. It was meh. Food 2/5: The food is below average. I split the Lobster Role Sliders and Shrimp and Crab Burger with a friend and while the mains were okay, the coleslaw was far to sour and the salad wasn't fresh. Another friend got the Seafood Mac and Cheese but it was dry and tasteless. Drinks 2/5: I got a sangria which wasn't terrible but my friend got a margarita that w... View all feedback.

It has been almost 20 years since I had been to Emma's back porch and I will say all the memories came back of what a great place it is. The last time I was there it was to dance and enjoy a lot of drinks and of course party it up. This time we were there meeting up with some great friends for dinner and drinks. I had the perch and chips and it was an excellent suggestion from the waitress. Lightly battered and five pieces of perch. Can't go wrong with that choice. As a group we split the small nachos. Not bad could use some more fresh veggies (only lettuce and tomatoes). In all a great return. Will make sure it's not another 20 years before return to this awesome gem of a place on the shores of Lake Ontario in south Burlington. But for sure go when the weather is nice and you can either sit on the patio and enjoy the view or just inside. You will be in awe.
The highlight of this place is the view and the patio's proximity to the lake! I really love this place in the summer months. Whenever I come I try to get a spot on the patio. The view is great and the patio is literally right on the lake I can't think of anywhere better in the GTA with a better patio view. They have big windows so even an inside table is good since for looking out. Inside decor is dated, and has that cottage/log cabin feel to it. They have multiple TV's and a large projector screen for game nights. I don't think I've ever been here without having to wait for a patio table it's a popular place in the summer. But it's well worth the wait and you can grab a drink from the patio bar while you wait. Outside patio also has a bar that fills up really fast. The food ain't too bad either! The sizzling beef fajitas is my go to choice, or the pan nachos for sharing. On our last stop here we got the Ahi Tuna Poke and the Beef Fajitas. The food isn't extraordinary I wouldn't come here if it was for the food alone but it's a great supplement to the lakeside view on a warm summer afternoon.

Another friend got the Seafood Mac and Cheese but it was dry and tasteless. Drinks 2/5: I got a sangria which wasn't terrible but my friend got a margarita that was incredibly sour (completely undrinkable). Service 4/5: Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Atmosphere 4/5: The inside it very country/western themed, great for big groups. They also have a gorgeous patio overlooking the lake.
I 've been to a million bars in my life. It 's so rare to see a place that 'gets it ' so well. Operating an establishment like this is quite a delicate art. Being able to crowd control the throngs of people during busy hours while giving every patron the feeling of it being a little bit 'their own cottage '. The relax after a hard day 's work. It 's every element. From the bar sight lines to the din of conversation. It all has to work perfectly. A difficult balancing act. That 's why I was so impressed here. A warm, wonderful space with great staff and incredible feel. Solid bar food and exceptional service. A particularly great neighbourhood bar.
