We had a perfect dining experience in a cozy dining room next to the fireplace, overlooking the water and boats. The atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! View all feedback.
What Peter F doesn't like about Backwater Grille:
A local restaurant owner and developer, known for their successful ventures, has reportedly purchased the Backwater Grill on the shores of Queechy Lake. The restaurant is expected to remain closed this summer for renovations and improvements, indicating a promising future for the establishment. Keep an eye out for updates in The Columbia Paper and Broccoli Soup. View all feedback.
Just a nice place, good food and a relaxing evening with friends and family
Nice local place unfortunately short staffed but staff was hardworking and friendly
We have come here a couple times in the past, the burgers were great and it was excellent but today was absolutely the worst because of the servers.. the female bartender and the server Were cold and aloof and actually irritated that we wanted to order food. They literally said it would be an 1.5 hour wait for food . I asked the customers did they wait long for the food and they said they only had waited about 20 minutes. BOTH woman had the attitude ,like they didn't want us to be there. It was unbelievable no smile no just pure misery. Evidently the women that are working there do not like their job .the owner needs to fire them and get new crew. There were so many tables open but they claimed they had many reservations till 8 o'clock that night. We wanted to sit at a 4 top on the water and they said absolutely not you have to sit at a 2 top table because they have people coming evidently. I never write a negative review but we came all the way on a beautiful fall day just to go there. Meanwhile you should know if you're coming on a Sunday and the school teacher waits on you he's phenomenal. Hes probly covering for these witches. The owner needs to read this and hire fresh happy employees. Business will not survive with these employees going through the motions. They hate people..you can feel it.It's a shame because it's a great location.
We usually have lunch here 2 or 3 times a season, principally because it's on Lake Queechy and there are very few restaurants where one can dine water-side in the general area. The food is very reliable pub food, the sandwiches are usually very good. When available their French Dip (sliced Prime Rib) is awsome and their Pastrami Rueben is very good. We seem to order the same things of late, because having tried several options, they never were as good as these two. The beer is always nice and cold. This year, however, we were surprised that they no longer had Bud Lite or Miller or Coors Lite, instead they offered Mich Ultra. The prices have also increased on the beer and wine. (My wife ordered a Pinot Grigio and was presented with a tiny plastic cup, not unlike a what you might get at the doc's when having your physical if you know what I mean). The little tiny cup cost like $8! If we could find some other options in the area to lunch al fresco waterside, we gladly welcome it. After our last visit here, it falls way down on our lunch visit list.
So glad we stopped here! Food was great and kids had fun watching and feeding the fish and turtles. Waitress was very nice as well. We will definitely come back.
