We stayed one night in Plattkofel on a day Dolomite self guided hike. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Guests were interesting, dogs are welcomed. We had a private room w/private bath. Very well insulated room. Comfortable, quiet.
I was here three years ago and therefore had some expectations on my return visit. I ordered a set of three different dumplings and was delighted to find that my expectations were well met. I look froward to my next visit in this scenic location.
We stayed here overnight while we walk a bit close. great reception after which we were quickly shown to our rather large and very neat room. the beds are good after a day to foot, the showers are clean and hot (coin operated). diner was good as. good, breakfast was sufficient with a lot of choice. we had a great stay here and I recommend this place for fellow travelers.

Beautiful location! We were very impressed with the clean, welcoming rooms and loved the family style dinning. Just FYI- Shared bathrooms, you purchase a shower and the token gets you 3 mins. They are very environmentally conscious. This was one of the best meals in all of northern Italy. It was serene.
Excellent refugio beautiful location, excellent food and drink. Very clean throughout and fantastic guest lounge on the ground floor for relaxing. Rooms and facilities down of the best. Well situated either for day hikes or longer trips. Highly recommended.
Big and large-scale run rifugio. All necessary services in place including washing machines, chargers and shower coin. The food was excellent, just as the breakfast. Wide beds and new-looking rooms. A bit less personal due to the big scale.
This was the busiest of 5 rifugios we stayed at. The shared dorm and shared bathroom were totally fine. It was challenging that the shower token only gave like 1.5-2 mins of water. The dinner service was efficient and tasty and breakfast was the standard one that most of the rifugios offered fine for vegetarians (they had eggs). It wasn’t the friendliest staff we encountered but everyone was fine. We thought it was pretty brazen to charge 4 euros for water at dinner when it was just potable water poured into a pitcher (not even an actual bottle of water like all of the other rifugios we visited). Using potable tap water is totally reasonable, just don’t price gouge your customers for it.
A fantastic stop, an even better place for lodging on a hut to hut. They have small animals rabbit for kids to play with, a reading lounge area, chaises to see the sunrise/ sunset and their own grown cheeses/cured ham. Serving as well in the winter the community, plenty of racks to leave your goods to dry/ air out .
