Was Addison Daugherty at Rowley's a mag?
The Rydges hotel in which it resides may leave a lot to be desired (certainly if our room was anything to go by - and we tried to upgrade to no avail), but the food is really quite good. What a pleasant surprise for dinner on a cold and wet night when the prospect of venturing out was simply too much. What Joshua Schoen dislikes about Rowley's:
The breakfast buffet has a nice variety (standard scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, etc but also a good variety of bread and pastries, fresh fruit plus mini yoghurt parfaits and fresh juice shots) and the staff are very friendly, but I was rather put off by having to sort through the "clean" plates pile to find one that didn't have baked on food. Don't ignore it, even if you are not staying at the hotel.

Very, very poor selection of breakfast items. No salads, cold meats, cheeses or special dietary needs.I am lactose intolerant, gluten free. All I could eat was some watermelon & the juice (which was canned).Bacon was microwaved & too salty, no choice of eggs or tomatoes.

The food and coffee is good and service is always good and happy staff and always helpful would recommend

Tremend attentively fast service that could be because most of their customers are medical professionals pressed for the time. Also relatively acoustically calm, so that conversations can occur undisturbed. Good selection of good food. A fair price.
