Was MumofHarvey at Sereia Da Gelfa a mag?
It is more than a pizzaria, it is a fun, modern, well run place to eat, just have a coffee or drink. It has a lovely atmosphere and on top of that the food is good. Very nicely trained staff, well decorated with nice seating indoors and outside. View all feedback.
What Tiago Falcão dislikes about Sereia Da Gelfa:
Great concept. Noisy park because it's located near a national road. Swimming pool schedule is absurd. It only opens at 10:30 AM and closes at 07:00PM. Not to mention that the water slides close for lunch ... View all feedback.

Last week I decided to try the take-out pizza at Restaurante Pizzeria Lounge Bar Sereia da Gelfa having heard that it was similar to Hamilton’s just north of Gelfa....verdict ...I was pleasantly surprised! So much so that two days ago I decided to revisit Sereia da Gelfa, this time with my wife and sister-in-law and to eat in the restaurant. I should point out that Trip Advisor only showed one review in English (positive) however the Portuguese site had approx 25 reviews! Despite great atmosphere, decor and menu...the evening soon turned into a huge disappointment. Upon arrival we were greeted by a host/waiter who advised that there would be a 20-30 minute wait even though half the tables were empty. I did not see much staff so I assumed this would be the reason. We grabbed some drinks and waited at the bar. Our table was ready and we placed our orders... 1. Soup and Mussels for myself 2. Serra Pizza for my sister-in-law 3. Spaghetti Bolognese for my wife First to arrive was my soup...approx. 30 minutes after ordering...and it was lukewarm at best...the bowl itself was cold. No other food was delivered so I requested our waiter (new guy) if it was possible to heat up the soup a bit. The waiter agreed and took the soup away...I then observed the waiter continue serving on tables??? 15 minutes later my soup reappeared. The waiter placed the soup down and walked away....and sure enough...the soup was colder then the first attempt! The waiter returned a minute later with the pizza for my sister-in-law and again told him that my soup was actually colder! He shrugged his shoulders and said “sorry”. Not wanting to cause any more controversy I ate a third of the soup and discarded the rest... About 15 minutes later, My sister-in-law was nearly completed her pizza when my wife’s spaghetti bolognese appeared. First, it was Penne and not Spaghetti. Next was the fact there was no sauce? Just what appeared to be mince meat on top. Again our waiter was summed and agreed that the sauce was missing! The waiter advised he would attend the kitchen to get some sauce....and we waited...and waited...and waited...and I could clearly see our waiter serving other tables. Now completely frustrated, I decided to attend the front entrance and spoke to the original host/waiter that sat us...he appeared to be very empathetic towards our situation and advised he would “take care of it”...I asked to speak to a manager. I returned to my table and 10 minutes later, our waiter returned WITHOUT the sauce. He advised that he could make an entire new order! At this point I asked about the mussels I ordered an hour earlier? The response...he was waiting for me to finish eating my soup!! ...and what about the Manager? “Oh...he is very busy!” That’s it! We were done! We tried and tried! We decided to leave the restaurant and paid for what was delivered to the table....even the cold soup! We did see the Manager when walking out. He was busy delivering plates of food to a table...the Manager was aware of the situation and told us there was nothing wrong with the Bolognese sauce! He was borderline hostile/ignorant... Ok...forget the horrible service or timing/delivery or the soup...the Manager NEVER attended our table to look at the plate. The Manager should know what is going...front and back of the house! I understand that he may be the Owner but he should also know what a bolognese sauce is....so ...I have included a photo of what Sereia da Gelfa offered followed by what bolognese is supposed to look like! The Restaurant business is a tough one on the Coast, evidence can be seen with all the closures along the road! Sereia da Gelfa has spent a lot of money rebranding their location...they should spend some money and hire a proper manager that knows how to run a restaurant! I will likely never visit again....I will continue to order pizza....and next time I visit To pick up my pizza, I may drop off a can of store-bought bolognese sauce to educate the manager!
