Denny's - Cameron Park
Denny's
Description
Denny's offers a nostalgic menu that includes beloved classics like biscuits and gravy and the Super Bird sandwich, all at wallet-friendly prices. While the food can be a delightful comfort, experiences vary significantly. Some guests cherish the warm service and tasty dishes like the T-bone steak and blueberry pancakes, while others lament inconsistent service and hygiene issues. Despite staffing challenges, attentive servers like Arnie leave lasting impressions with their kindness. Yet, the recent removal of the dessert menu has disappointed regulars. Overall, while Denny's remains a staple, it faces challenges in maintaining its traditional diner charm.

Our server had a wonderful personality—she was incredibly entertaining, polite, and performed her job exceptionally well. She was especially attentive and kind to the elderly guests.
We came to Denny's for a family dinner, and it was pretty slow, which we thought would be nice. There were only two servers and one cook on staff, and not many people in the restaurant. Our waiter was friendly, but the waitress was a bit overwhelming, constantly calling us "babe" and "baby," which we didn’t appreciate, and even our daughter was uncomfortable. When our food finally arrived, my wife found a hair in her meal, which was delivered by the male waiter. It was really unpleasant. They remade the dish but didn’t offer to remove it from our bill or apologize—just a vague comment about not knowing how that happened. The water also tasted like chemicals or cleaner, so none of us drank it. I understand being understaffed during this time, but with so few customers, they should have done better—like removing the item from the bill or offering a proper apology. Overall, it was not a good experience.
I'm a huge fan of biscuits and gravy, and I must say that Denny's serves my favorite version. They provide a classic, traditional gravy with no fancy herbs or spices—just the way I enjoy it. I only get my biscuits and gravy from Denny's. The best part? It's just $4.00 and includes two biscuits with unlimited gravy! Since I don't eat pork, they prepare it for me without sausage, and it's still absolutely delicious. And I can't forget to mention the Super Bird sandwich—it's really tasty!
Denny's is losing its charm like many classic diners before it. The food is just okay, and the prices have gone up. I only plan to eat there if I have no other dining options.
