My only wish is that they do so well at this point that they expand with more seat : . Best pizza on the NW side, imo. We were excited when the (4th? Shorty's location opened and it was adjacent to North Upper Arlington. In our years in UA we worked around the area, found some good, some very good, but no great pizza options. This is super AND if you really speculate it, you can get a healthy and excellent salad. Hig... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shorty's Half Way Tavern:
Just moved here from Georgia and decided to try out a different pizza place. My go to has been Del-Co but they had an hour wait for pickup last night so went with another popular place that was mentioned in a FB group. The wait time for pickup was 50 minutes, we got there at 40 minutes and it was ready. The pizza was cut similar to Del-Co but the cheese was not covering any of the end pieces. It tasted good, very gre... View all feedback.
Great place great people enjoy it every time I stop there
My wife and I were going to have a date night and go there tonight, but, as always, got lazy and just got takeout. We have lived in Delaware for about a year or so, moving from Powell. We frequented the Powell's Shortys, often just sitting at the bar and getting a pie. I want to try all the pizzas in Delaware. Love Cheshire Market; got Delco last week just ok (but staffing might be an issue). Lazy delivery option is always Jets (always good). Love Mohios and Amatos. But tonight, Shorty's at home was..PHENOMENAL. Just got one pizza; all bacon, half onion, half banana pepper. Crust was deliciously crispy. Sauce was tangy and delicious (a little sweet, no complaints). Cheese tasted delicious not sure what kind of blend they use. Gonna be hard to try something else after this gem..
Pizza was absolutely fantastic. We got the pacer pizza with double pep and double cheese, we also added extra sauce. They cooked it perfectly and the cheese around the edges was nice and carmelized. My wife said the hot wings were even better than the superb pizza, huge meaty wings and yes just a little hot. You can get them breaded or naked and we went with naked and wow, very tasty. This place is a bit of a dive from the outside but don't be put off by it, the food is spectacular and from my experience the best pizza places are a dive! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! 1000x 1000x
Shorty's homemade chili is incredible, Tom the owner is using a family recipe and it's some of the best chili we've ever had at any restaurant. You have to pair it with their in-house special made Shorty's Lager, a great craft made beer, that's cold and crisp with a very bold flavor and body. Every single thing we've gotten from this awesome Delaware eatery is FIRE! It's family owned and operated with care and passion for their customers. Last time there we got spaghetti and meat balls, without a doubt the meatballs are as good as their chili, moist and bursting with flavor set off with their homemade marinara sauce. This place is worthy of a spot on Diners Drive-ins and Dives for sure. Take your family out and enjoy a local joint that's doing food right, you won't be disappointed!!! Also the best brewed iced tea I've had in years! That alone gets an extra 5 stars!!! Thank you Tom for your good cheer and awesome service! We'll be back again and again and again...

The people who worked there were happy, busy, also super service.
