The female manager was extremely unwelcoming and aggressively rude, not only to me but also to customers who had been waiting in line before me. There was only one person serving and three in the kitchen, so hot meals were not being served. I ordered a slice of lemon cake that was so thin it could not have been sliced any thinner. It is clear that they do not read or care about reviews. They may have a monopoly, but I will be writing to Camden about their behavior. They do not deserve to have a monopoly. I'm glad to see that others have had similar experiences based on other reviews.
I decided to give this restaurant a second chance for lunch after being disappointed the first time. Unfortunately, it was another mistake. I ordered a chicken pie, but it was very small and came with a tiny portion of mashed potatoes and peas. The gravy was barely noticeable under the pie. The pie seemed to have very little meat in it, which I found surprising. The filling of the pie was pink, indicating that it was either undercooked or not chicken at all. In addition, the meal was served with a small wrap, tea, and coffee, making it a disappointing experience overall. It's a shame that the restaurant doesn't provide better food for its customers.
Unfortunately, this cafe has a beautiful setting, but the food quality is terrible. I ordered a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel and it was extremely tough. Additionally, the prices are too expensive. Next time I visit this park, I will bring my own packed lunch and a flask of tea.
I will refrain my custom after years of coming here. Manager ? serving today (Saturday was rude when asking people to step in line. Concerns with not practising safe hygiene by constantly removing his mask from face when impolitely shouting orders at customers.
This place has been through a few changes but today we had a good afternoon tea, delicious orange cake and delightful service.
