Contribute Feedback What karin cc doesn't like about La Voss:
I purchased a Groupon deal for 2 steak/lobster meals for £24. The lobster was disappointing, appearing to be defrosted with very little meat inside. The steak also lacked in quality. However, the waitress was very kind and when the first steak was overcooked, they replaced it without any issues. The atmosphere felt more like a canteen than a restaurant, as we were the only customers there all night. The wine was good... View all feedback.
I ate here with a friend fairly early on a Thursday evening as she had an appointment in the area at 7. The waitress was very nice and friendly (almost perhaps too much so and let me tap away on my laptop as my friend baffled the tube. My friend had a Fiorentina and I had the vegetable lasagne, and we devoured both! My lasagne was very nicely cooked, as was my friend's pizza, but I would have perhaps appreciated a tiny bit of green on the side. Sadly we didn't have time for dessert but prices are very reasonable indeed :
My husband convinced me to go to la Voss pre theatre. He had been there before and thought it was quite good (which previous reveiws would reflect). However, be warned, it is under new management, and whilst the waitress was very pleasant, the ambience, food and wine is not. My headbands meal was awful- overlooked cheap cut of meat posing as beef, with frozen veg on the side. The pasta sauce in my meal clearly came from a packet. Do not go!
We were on holiday visiting london and I've always wanted to try lobster A very warm welcome, we got seated really quickly and ordered really fast too. We got the house wine Rose which was lovely. The wait for our food took a little while longer than hoped but it was obviously cooked from fresh. Lobster was delicious! and steak was cooked perfectly as well, I got medium well done and it was fab. Not at all alive! we chose Chips for a side after food had came out and they were served up really fast. Our waitress really made the evening fab, she was really friendly and knew all about the food. For pudding I got the tiramisu, much better than Tescos(being the only other tiramisu iv tasted), the portion was perfect also! Jake got the baked cheese cake which was really yummy too but just a tad small of portion. The cocktails 2 for £8. We got the Lava something or others and they made them to our taste, we got an olive and lemon with it and they were absolutely beautiful! Best cocktails I've ever tasted. We had seconds! I'd highly recommend this place and will visit again if in london.
I knew the food wasn't going to be great as soon as we walked in and I noticed the salt and pepper shakers were the large ones you get off the shelf at the from the supermarket! A small detail, I know, but a restaurant that can't take the time to fill s&p shakers in place of just buying ones off the supermarket shelf, means they won't take the time to to cook proper food!!The waitress was great, chatty and entertaining, but I came for the steak and lobster meal, which was terribly disappointing...As such, we won't be going back EVER AGAIN!
Four of us purchased a daily deal voucher for a steak and lobster. Unfortunately the stake was thin and hard as rubber. After trying to chew it we had to spit out every single piece back on the plate as it was impossible to chew it. Lobster was also tiny, rubbery and tasteless. Only reason we stayed and decided not to make a big fuss of it was because the waitress was friendly and provided a great service. The place also doesn't have any atmosphere. Very plain and basic. Very disappointing.
