Nestled just off Clerkenwell Road, this unique pub captures a mix of modern pub life and culinary delights. With a friendly and relaxed vibe, patrons rave about the exceptional small plates, including top-notch fish tacos and inventive cocktails. While some miss the charm of its earlier years, the recent renovations have revitalized the space, transforming it into a go-to spot for great music and a delightful beer garden. Despite some inconsistencies in service hours and a bland interior, the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make it a hidden gem worth exploring for both drinks and delicious food.
We hired the venue out for my 30th birthday it was absolutely perfect, Marissa and the team could not have been more accommodating of anything we asked for. The food and cocktails were amazing and was commented on by all the guests. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to go for dinner/drinks or as we did for private hire on a weekend.
Does not open when it advertises on website apparently should of opened at 12:00 on Friday but don’t open till 16:00 especially when you decide to change days to accommodate this pub
If you just want a pint at the bar, forget it. They will try to corral you to a table and then when you try and pay will try and sneak a 25% service charge on top without telling you (even when you've tried to go to the bar to get the drinks yourself, and even when you have to wait 15minutes for your drinks).
Upstairs is a small room where you can hear each other while eating. The Lamb Birria is amazing. Margaritas made correctly. A little piece of Mexico in the middle of London and reasonable number of people at rush hour. You should go. Oh yeah and a portrait of Admiral Bill Murray upstairs too. Usually go to the Coach Horse's (no just the Coach) but it's closed for renovations at the moment. The Gunmakers is a taco restaurant inside a pub but all we wanted was a beer so we sat outside. I like the Gunmakers as it's a bit off the beaten track. The service is fast and the prices are what you'd expect to pay in Clerkenwell Meal type: Other Price per person: £1–10 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
