Visitors appreciate its spacious and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for gatherings. However, the dining experience has been inconsistent. While some dishes, like the burger with blue cheese and calamari, receive praise, others fall short, with service and food quality drawing criticism. Despite these setbacks, loyal patrons cherish its charm and reasonable prices, making it a notable contender in the often overlooked King's Cross food scene.
I have been going to chads for many years and his one of my favorite little secrets away from the hectic and the bustle of kings cross drinks to make reasonable trips, good eating and great music.
Where should I start? a terrible service. really and really terrible. Good for a drink, but eating is far away from the brand. we have eaten there tonight and were served two near raw portions of meatballs. the other dishes served (coley enchilada and slow frying pork bruschetta) were only disappointed for everyone. not often I am forced to write a review, but that was bad despite the apologies.
King’s cross could be the best railway station in london, but definitiw not the best food scene. If I think hard, I could find some places where I would go to eat. the fact that the opposite is a hub for foreigners arriving with the train from the continental makes it ideal for volume eating. I was proved to be wrong this afternoon when two friends made me a place right behind their apartment, st chad’s place. hidden in a quiet back alley it feels like a sacredness from the hectic of the king's cross. Before I would go to dinner, I would say that this is the place that this area needs more, spacious and comfortable.
The King's Cross area is not somewhere we would normally be heading to for Sunday lunch but Dave Cork Gourmet Guy' Ahern was debuting his burger pop up concept Burger Breakout at St Chad's Place and that's enough promise to make the trip worthwhile. We had not heard of St Chad's Place before and (at the time of writing) there are no blog posts on it either, but a short walk from King's Cross station, the venue is a very cool spot indeed if you like the whole converted warehouse feel (it is in fact a former mechanic's workshop lucky mechanic The key feature is an impressive vaulted timber roof and with exposed brickwork plus old fashioned ceramic tiles on the walls, the...read more
