Umberto's Bistro - Cambridge

V overpriced and small serving. Read on their website that their biryani is amazing but didnt find anything special to pay $15 bucks for that!! Ordered kabab platter as well and that doesnot include rice or naan and its strange because the price is too much and qty was nothing!!Never went there again!

Thought we would give it a try. While very quiet for a Saturday night, we enjoyed the service and excellent food. Talking with our server he told us everything is cooked to order which means could take a little while. It was well worth waiting for and prices were very reasonable. Will be back for sure.Mon to Fri they offer a buffet for $10.99 at lunch times. Hopefully give that a try soon

My husband and I enjoy trying the different restaurants and cuisines in Cambridge, and usually enjoy our experiences. We rely on tripadvisor reviews to help us on our culinary adventures. Well in this case, the reviews were wrong. We went for dinner this evening (Monday), and had a bad experience. Upon entering, there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant, yet 80% of the tables were cluttered with dirty food dishes. The server was not welcoming or friendly. It should also be noted that this restaurant does not serve alcohol. Our food came, we ordered padhi chaat to start which was flavourful, but a small serving. I ordered spinach chicken and my husband ordered butter chicken. The chicken in my dish was full of fat and inedible. In the butter chicken, the meat was very tough. The rice was extremely salty and naan very dry. I basically took two bites of my meal and couldn't eat any more. The server didn't return to ask how the food was so we flagged her down and I told her I couldn't eat the meal because of the fat and gristle in the meat. She asked if I wanted it packed up??? I declined. We asked for the bill and noticed that we were still charged for my meal, and given a manager's discount of 10% off. With so many other welcoming restaurants in the area which serve high quality Indian food, we will definitely not be returning to this one.

I have frequented the Bistro many times and enjoy the authentic motherly home style cooking. I highly recommend their Pomegranate spritzer which I believe is unique. Great service and the the Saag Ghost is to die for :)

THE FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD IS DELICIOUS! I especiallyyyyyy loveee the biryani and butter chicken. Me and my family had a really good time!
