I love, love, love Beertown. It is so awesome for its selection of beers. Some local - all craft from around the world even (proved by today's sample from the Netherlands). So much beer selection. If you love trying new beers - this is definitely the place for you.Now food wise, I have my go tos that are an acceptable price for me... however, I'd echo other comments in saying that it is pricey! Salad options with tuna or chicken into the $20 range seems steep indeed. But that being said, I've never had a bad meal or experience at Beertown. The food is always great. Just a little out of my price range for lunch. The staff are the best. I've been coming since it opened and have always had good service - knowledgable and friendly. It's not to say that during busy rushes that things haven't gone a little sideways but almost every visit has been awesome. If I'm heading to Cambridge or passing by on the 401 - I'm definitely stopping at Beertown!
This establishment has a lively vibe to it & is popular with the locals. It was quite noisy when our group dined here on a Saturday night. There was quite a wait for the menus & an even longer wait for our meals (1hr 15mins). Granted we were a large group but some of us didn't get our meals until others had finished their desserts! Not good enough. We only dined here because our assistant coach made the suggestion to as we were visiting from the Durham Region. If I'm ever in this neighbourhood again then I'll be dining else where. To the Managment, something really needs to be done about the organisation & service with groups. Having to wait so long for food orders is ridiculous, especially when there are children (some very young) waiting to eat - sort it out, you really need to do things better.
I have been to the Waterloo Beertown and had a very pleasant experience there, so I decided to try this place. To say it as it was, I was pretty disappointed by my experience. I found that the server took forever to come to us (it wasn't busy), and she was also kind of unpleasant. The food however was also prettt sub-par (Mac and cheese) and would not recommend it. Definitely wouldn't go back. I go to a variety of restaurants fro, high-end to small town breakfast and burger joints and haven't had this bad of service in a long time.
I've visited Beertown five times during my trips to Cambridge, at various days and times. Each visit has been marked by impeccable service and outstanding food. We...
