Outstanding experience, though a bit expensive. Meat and surprisingly crab cakes were delicious! Wasabi octopus also surprised. Drinks were well themed and strong enough. Would go again!
My family love this place. Tasty, authentic and affordable. Having traveled to Japan, this is the real deal. Love their Tonkatsu curry udon.

I work from home about a 10 minute walk away, and I come to Tampopo for take-out bento boxes regularly. They are delicious and super affordable. For a fraction of the price at other restaurants in Porter and Davis, you get a main (pork katsu, chicken katsu, or karaage), rice, a small side of pickles and seaweed salad, some gyoza, and a choice of soup or salad. It's always delicious, highly recommend.
Been there twice. Not pricey and authentic Japanese food overall.
