A very good Italian restaurant, very friendly greeting and excellent service. Nice outdoorseating and a varied menu realistically priced. The beef carpaccio was as good as any I have eaten. A very enjoyable evening. View all feedback.
What Kirsty M doesn't like about Roma 1000:
I came here with my two kids for a takeaway i asked if they did it they said yes. Was told i was allowed to sit and wait of course iam a paying customer. Anywsy single parent with two kids and never felt so unwelcome. One waitress went out her way to be rude and so stuck up Wasnt even offered a drink while i waited a very long time on two pizzas and chips. They do not like kids in this restaurant you would thimk they... View all feedback.
Eat at Roma three times in the last fortnight and twice in November last year. Yes there is a reason why I have been there five times: it is excellent. Big menu, outstanding pasta dishes (the Salmon fillets and tagliatelle were so good my wife ordered twice in a row) risotto, calves liver salad, Motzarella and egg plant (enormous for a starter), spaghetti with prawns all outstanding. Service very good (slightly clinical). Well worth a visit.
Was in it 3 times over 2 weeks when on holiday the food was very good there was 4 of us and everyone was very happy with it the Bosnian waiter was excellent
We have been to this restaurant on many occasions, especially as it opens off season. In short, we've never had anything other than an excellent meal there, both pizzas and pasta. I have a good appetite, but unlike another contributor I have never been disappointed with the portions. The welcome is always good, from ladies that I believe are German. The surroundings are nice and service good. By Santa Ponsa standards it is a little expensive, but it is vastly better than most of the mass market Anglicised and often mediocre restaurants nearby.
Gran Café Antica Roma, to give it its full title occupies a prominent position on Jaimi 1 opposite the new Pirates Hotel. This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Santa Ponsa. One day I might try something other than the Tempora King Prawns and Stir Fry Vegetables to start with – but it is always that good. Their generous rack of lamb was perfectly prepared. My wife was impressed with her Fish. To finish we each had a chocolate Soufflé. This is one dessert you do not want to share! Our bill for 2 was €80. The quality was every bit as good as we remembered but perhaps the cost explains why this very good restaurant is so much quieter than on previous visits or was it something to do with the Gentleman smoking his cigar in the middle of the terrace? Gran Cafe Antica Roma still remains on our list of favorite restaurants in Santa Ponsa.
I fancied a pizza and the wife and guests Carbonara. Accompanied by a superb Ribera del Duero we had a fantastic meal. No negatives at all. Fill yer boots!
