What Cosetta Caruso doesn't like about La Table de Bastien:
Unbelievable. the new booking is: more restaurant reservation without room reservation to the villa. But no problem in June. I conclude that the villa has become a family pension and the bastien table a host table. less than they are ashamed of their kitchen and afraid of criticism. When you've changed politics, call me... For info, 250 euros has to pay in a couple. without dessert (!) and with only one of us drinking glass. You really should be regaled at this unjustified price! Wrapped. The technique is not enough if the taste remains dull. It is necessary to cross the very ugly reception of the hotel, which does not give the war to try the rooms, to arrive at the terrace of the restaurant etoilé, with a breathtaking view on the bay of calvi and its ancient citadel. The most romantic panorama of the city is certain.Unfortunately the michelin once again recompensed the snob conceptual plate, to the detriment of flavors. We start with loam-stuffs of a great banality, soft gugere, mini focaccia, nice gazpacho, it leaves nothing glimpse of the creativity and the sprinkled level. at almost 50€ the fatty liver enters, we wait better than three mini dice of foie gras covered with a cherry jelly without taste, with three half ecrasee cherries as a compote, and a breadcrumb to fill the void. The other dishes tested are in the same spirit: sbrouff with cracks and few flavors. The portions are light, the prices are heavy. The cheese tray was only presenting three unhappy Corsican cheeses tonight, to stay local, we offer a gold price an empty tray to the customer. The smiling waitress recognizes that they had a delivery problem. And the cheeses of metropole could not enrich this plateau that pity? The service is smiling, the idyllic view, the front plate, the very overestimated addition.
We ate there on a Sunday. On Sunday evenings, the star restaurant is closed and a gourmet bistro formula is available, which was very good for us. The frame is beautiful. The food is very good. excellent fish soup, delicious aioli baccala. But there is a frankly a lack of service, especially for an establishment that claims to the highest standards of industry. More than once, we did the service of wine and water ourselves, which we were waiting for. However, the staff seemed to be numerous, but misused or distributed, it was unproductive. the comb was to receive the bottle of red ordered to accompany the meal well after the plates were served and thus, become half empty. for the requested price, despite the quality in the plate, you can find better.
The view is magnificent but the food is a complete disappointment. I've been to many Michelin restaurants and this does not, in my opinion, merit event a mention by Michelin! We had the tasting menu for 145 euros per person and although the the food wasn't bad, it wasn't anything special. Very simple and very plain.The highlight was the dessert and after we ate it we discovered it was the pastry chef not the chef who created it. 30 minute wait between before the last course was inexcuseable. Our server Sarah was great, thank you Sarah for making the evening as pleasent as possible. So, so disappointed.
Pleasant enough. Really nice outdoor terrace for aperitifs. Great views to citadel. The food was very good but not spectacular.
The food was just heavenly. Outstanding quality, fresh ingredients, beautiful arrangements, incredible desserts - highly recommended.
