The food here goes beyond pizza, though the pizza is transcendent. OK, all pizza is transcendent. But Menomale's is beyond that. The appetizers are exceptional, especially the Coccio. The best meal I ever had was traveling through the Italian countryside and happening upon a random family resto. Menomale compares to that experience, except it's not exactly in a small Italian hillside town. Don't miss this spot. View all feedback.
What Tlta doesn't like about World Wide Pizzas:
Our airBnB hosts recommended this restaurant and it was just ok. Service wasn’t great (slow, forgetting to take us item) and food was really bland. Likely wouldn’t go back. View all feedback.
Menomale rocks. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table, the pizza is always fresh coming out of their imported wood-fired pizza oven, and their salads and desserts are authentic and delicious. Though we live quite a ways away, we always try to hit Menomale when we are in Northeast DC!
Four of us had dinner here on a warm fall Sunday evening. They had an interesting beer selection (didn't check wine or spirits). The pizza selection resembles what you would find in Italy some American-like ones. We all had pizza: the dough tasted great, as well as the tomato sauce and mozzarella. Pizza itself was cooked to perfection. Friendly service, relaxed ambience. Price is slightly higher than I expected, but it's worth it once in a while.
I went in this restaurant a couple of time with my wife. It doesn’t seem a nice and luxury place but it is clean, the personnel is polite and the pizza is excellent: in my opinion the best Italian pizza in DC. I always look for an Italian restaurant then I tried some places here and let me say the pizza tastes like a genuine Italian dish: the pizza dough is well leavened and the ingredients are fresh. The prices are in line compared to others but the quality is higher. Happy to taste an Italian flavor so far from my country.
