Very nice room. Table of 5. Enthusiastic and conscientious service, albeit not very experienced. We all got the prixe fix Ruth 's Classics , added some sides and had a nice bottle of wine. Everything was very good to excellent, except a couple of our filet mignons were overcooked. View all feedback.
What TryingOutRestaurants doesn't like about Ruth's Chris Steak House:
We eat at Ruth Chris often, but was our first visit to this location. The lobster bisque was watery and tasteless. The filet had far too much fat and tendons in it. Service was very nice but slow. View all feedback.

Highly recommend- tasty, beautiful atmosphere, good service.
Great service and food in an elegant restaurant located in the heart of Washington, DC.
I made a reservation for myself, husband and 2 daughters 9 and 6) for our daughter's 9th birthday. The first thing that happened was our server asked if our children would be eating too, I was confused and said yes. Secondly they said they removed their kids menu, which was one of the reasons I picked here because they had a kids filet option online. It took asking twice for a kids menu for our server to tell us it didn't exist. It also took the busser to notice our kids didn't have any place settings. We finally ordered. I told the waiter I have a gluten allergy and he asked if I could have butter I would say he was not at all knowledgeable about celiac) so my husband pulled up the gluten free menu online so I could order. Our food came out and our server informed us he made a mistake and didn't put in our kids food so he was going to do it right then. Our girls ate half our food while waiting, we had already been here an hour at this point. Our kids steak came out and was very undercooked, we had to send it back but it was 15 mins before our waiter came back to our table so we could tell him. The manager ended up coming out and cooking it to the right temperature on a hot plate at the table, she was very sweet and helpful. Our server came out with a birthday cheesecake for our daughter and said it was on the house because of the mistake birthday treats are usually on the house especially when you don't get to pick the dessert) after everything someone came over to say the kids meals were removed from our bill. Our food was great but the experience was not. This was a first time at Ruth's Chris for all of us and I'm unsure if we would make a trip to go back.
One of the best restaurants in D. C. Excellent service. We can recommend, no doubt.
