A truly outstanding neighborhood spot! More beers on tap than I remember seeing anywhere in town. Very friendly staff, and the food quality and pricing are not to be believed. I have been back several times, with a group of friends and then back to watch the NBA playoffs on one of their many TVs. They even have a theatre size TV screen for events. About the food...I have had their Chicken Wrap, which is not your ordi... View all feedback.
What DiningGuide Reader doesn't like about My Brother's Place:
Brothers is the shittiest bar in the Washington area. I don't know why people go there. Don't waste your time at this place. You'd be better off to go party at the bar next door, Hamilton’s. It sucks!!!!! View all feedback.
Owner and two bouncers tonight 10/25/09 refused entrance and service to 3 active duty US Army personnel. They were stopped at the door and admittance denied.... You and your bouncers claimed, when ask by another patron why, their response was that all GI's start trouble. Man who claimed to be owner appears to be of Mexican origin, funny if I felt all Mexicans were illegal aliens, I am sure you would call me a racist when I ask you for your green card eh? Well call me a racist if you will, but I would call you a puke for denying entrance and service to our military who happen to protect your basic freedoms.... I will never ever ever spend one cent of my money in this place again. Proud military mom calling on all veterans to boycott this place Memorial Day and Veterans Day and any other time we are all in the city... Enough said....
One of the best and funniest bars I've ever been to!!!
Saturday Night...October 24th was marked by a heart breaking moment in my life. This moment was the realization that their people out there that still do not respect and support our troops. No matter you view on the war. Respect our men and women fighting for us. How this involves My Brothers Place, you may ask. Well...while waiting outside to into the bar three young passed by me mumbling something under their breath. I inquired wanting to know what was the problem...These three young men informed me that the bouncers and owner of this Establishment said no military allowed. In disbelief I went over myself...trying to remain calm but still in disbelief. I asked the bouncers and the owner of the bar (a smaller Cuban man) if that was true about the military. They informed me (all simultaneously) no military! After inquiring more they made the generalizing statement that all military personnel do is start fights! I explained to them that they were generalizing this to all troops that served and attempted to remind them of the service that these men provided to our country. The owner informed me that he did not care...they were not getting in. I explained that I would never do business with their facility again...and their response Fine...bye! I feel that everyone out their should know how this company treats its veterans and military personnel.
This bar is the s@#t. No long lines, cheap beer, really chill staff.
