Great food, definitely worth the wait. Their deserts are amazing. Recommended for friends and family to take a visit.Cons: Need to get some AC in the house, seems like there is not enough air flow. Parking can be hard to get since it's DC. View all feedback.
What Alexander Ziskind doesn't like about Kinship:
Visited Kinship with high expectations. Waited 10 minutes for service, only to find our server was also the busy bartender. A 23% service charge promised premium service, which sadly wasn’t met, especially when our food arrived cold. While understanding the charge’s intent to support staff, the overall experience—delayed and cold service—didn’t match up. Hoping Kinship aligns its service and food quality with its pri... I had an outstanding dinner sitting at their comfortable bar space. I appreciated the thoughtfulness each dish showcased, if you’re feeling overwhelmed like I was choosing a course, the staff is more than qualified to help you create a dinner that is perfect for you. The asparagus salad easily won the evening featuring a unique combination of flavors I have never tasted before and will think about long after last night. I will say my partner and I usually share three or four courses, and eating solo I was able to finish three on my own. Not necessarily a complaint, as I often find when I dine alone I only have room for one plate when I desperately wish I could have more!Kinship will be a necessary stop for any future travel to the city I will enthusiastically recommend it!
One word is enough for me to describe this restaurant -pretentious.The food was average, the service aloof and scattered. Will not be back. Do not recommend.
Great for special meal and experience. Reliable for price you pay.
We were visiting from out of town and this restaurant came up on our Michelin Star search so we decided to give a try as it was very close to our hotel. I was a bit hesitant because reviews were somewhat mixed but… I’m leaving an honest review to say this place did not disappoint! The food was so good we cleaned our plates. And the service was excellent from the time we walked in. One thing that was recommended on a comment I read was to review the menu beforehand and I agree. The menu reads horizontally… the first row of items are appetizers, the middle rows are entrees and the last row are desserts. Or you can do family style at bottom of menu as your entree, which is what we decided. But we didn’t understand that was how the menu is arranged until the waiter explained it to us. All in all it was excellent food and a great experience!
We love this place. We accidentally came in when we were looking for another restaurant and they politely directed us to where we needed to go. It was so nice that we actually came back for drinks after we left the restaurant that we were actually intending to go to. The vibes it gives off is very private and exclusive with a chic Great Gatsby era kind of atmosphere. We ordered a small cappuccino and it came with a cool toffee plate and a miniature Hammer to break it. Lots of fun! There aren't a lot of tables, so I'd recommend you make a reservation. We stayed at the bar and the bartenders were fantastic. Parking is not the best, so I'd recommend Uber or drop off your date and find parking afterwards.
