We came here for a celebratory dinner with a large group. Our food was good and we had a great time; however, when we sat down, we were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. Our water glasses were filled all night, automatically, without being asked if we wanted any. This is standard service and we thought nothing of it. When we got our bill, there was over $60 charge for water! We were shocked and didn't feel... View all feedback.
What MelanieS doesn't like about Equinox:
Equinox is disappointing, a far cry from its previous incarnation. The noise from the bar overwhelms the restaurant, which strangely has cheap, ugly industrial tile carpeting inside and Astro turf outside. The food was mediocre: halibut overcooked, fried soft shell crab soggy, artichokes alla Romana flavorless. The wine list is short and uninteresting. View all feedback.
Best plant based courses I 've enjoyed in a long time. I really appreciated the menus seasonality however I know that some of the things like ramps at least locally the season has been over for a couple weeks. Also the menu is fixed however i noticed the soup was missing the croutons and the pasta was missing chard, the rest wasnt clear if the items i couldnt place were hidden or blended into the dish otherwise. Everything with white sauces tasted really coconut milky but it was never a listed ingredient.... I do have allergies to some nuts and the waited did a really good job of checking to make sure none of the dishes contained nuts I was allergic to... but then at the last dessert course they brought out a non menu item listed small plate with pistachio cookies and walnut clusters.... lol RIP
The website description elevated the bar for our expectations unfortunately. There were maybe 2 other tables in the restaurant and the service was non existent. We each received a different version of the menu and the menu being offered oddly featured fall dishes for a warm summer weekend. The food itself did not match the accolades of what we were looking forward ro enjoying.
Enjoyed our first time experience at Equinox on a Tuesday evening during Happy Hour (4 PM 6 PM). Delightful weather (sunny, light breeze, low humidity), prompt service on the patio, and tasty appetizers: Red Cabbage Shiitake Mushroom Spring Rolls, Beef Short Rib Empanadas with Salsa Verde, Fried Green Tomatoes with Avocado Aioli and Jalapeno and the Equinox Truffled Risotto Fritters. All great choices! My fav: FGT
I've been going to this restaurant for nearly a decade. The food never disappoints and the staff is incredible. The new location is still close to the White House, and now has a much more space at the bar. Kudos to Todd and Ellen for their business acumen and kindness, keeps folks coming back for years. Here's to 25 more!

Our water glasses were filled all night, automatically, without being asked if we wanted any. This is standard service and we thought nothing of it. I just want to warn others to be aware of this unfair practice.
