Salam - Calp

This restaurant has been closed for a long time,It is now an ice cream parlour. The restaurante Salam was a great place for green tea and cakes, PITY IT NO LONGER EXISTS

Usually when you eat at Playa Della Fossa you will be served the same tourist food over and over again. This place is a good addition to offer something different. Still open to the beach you see moroccan interior, seats, cushions and shishas to give you the North African style. The service is welcoming and friendly. Enjoying the view we chosen pinchos de pollo which were lightly seasoned. As a main course we wanted to experience the Tajin and picked a meatball version with a light and delicate tomato sauce and beef with almonds, apricot and plums. The sauce here was delicious and the mixture between sweet and savoury is fabulous. The beef itself was very tender and fell from the bone. For sure worth a try. We finished off with a traditional Moroccan peppermint tea which was fresh and sweet. Again, very nice experience.

Although the picture shown is not of the restaurant, the address is the same. We had an outstanding lunch there on the last day of our holiday. The atmosphere and furnishings are authentic as was the music. The food was cooked to perfection, and my lamb fell off the bone it was so tender. The service and price were good. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go there next time we are in Calpe.
