We can definitely recommend this restaurant which is run by Roy and Won (sorry if I spelt this wrong)...the crab cocktail starter is wonderful and the sole and goulash is a must. You can sit here on a comfortable chair on the open terrace, the covered terrace (the roof can be opened) and indoors, a suitable place for every season. I have eaten here several times and after the well-known quarantine, this was the first place I thought of for dinner in the first stage towards more freedom. Today the catering industry partially opened and I decided to celebrate this moment by having dinner at Eetcafe Max again. I had a delicious meal, a nice chat and enjoyed the ambiance. A very successful and joyful evening! The service is good. The hosts, Wan Roy, are very welcoming, stand for quality, hospitality and are always up for a chat. The food is fresh and properly prepared, the dishes are nicely garnished. Tried several dishes and they were all very tasty. If you want more salad, veggies or fries, just ask for it and it will be arranged for you. Great value for the price! Definitely will go back soon!

Unfortunately, w... read more We have visited this restaurant several times before and always found the service slow but the food very good. It is also good value for money. Unfortunately, when we visited with friends last night the service was unacceptably slow. From ordering it took one hour and twenty minutes for the main course to arrive. Other diners who ordered after us were served their main courses before us which added to our frustration. We all ordered sea food starters and they were very good but came without bread. When we asked for bread we were told that only sliced white was on offer. A minor point, I know, but we have dined in many places in Spain and the availability of bread has never before been an issue. When we finally complained the waiter, who we believe may also be one of the owners, was abrupt to the point of rudeness. As a retired woman I felt intimidated by his attitude and felt the need to warn him not to touch me. I was also deeply offended by his insinuation that we had had too much to drink. There is so much that is so right about this place. It is so sad that our evening with friends visiting from the U.K. was so marred. A simple apology for the delay or an update on the progress of our food would have been all that was needed.
