We get Indian here all the time. Is always busy so you know it's good. Staff are friendly and remember us (shows how often we go) and bonus is online ordering. Price is good, portions are good. Wouldn't go elsewhere. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Indiyum Fair Dinkum Indian:
We had takeaway from this restaurant last night. We ordered a selection of curries and they all tasted as though they had a cup of sugar in each. My understanding of chicken tikka Marsala is that it is chicken skewers cooked in a tandoori oven with a sauce, usually featuring fresh tomato and onion. The dish we had was chunks of chicken simmered in a sweet pale brown sauce with absolutely no hint of tandoor. All the o... View all feedback.
Okay, to take away, not to eat. in the opposite to the menu they have no tandoor, so naans are heavy pan fried matters. huh is also breast and hard and dry. that said the rogane josh was delicious.
We were disappointed. food was not good at all. service poor, restaurant dingy....staff were friendly, but would not recommend. no atmosphere.
Consistently good eating! we are always happy to eat here at our visit in caloundra. the staff is always friendly and helpful. large small restaurant
After we have read many previous reviews in this restaurant, we were a little doubtful about the going, but decided to make a booking for a table on a busy Saturday evening (which was easy) and found the service friendly and the eating delicious! it was a very busy time to be in the restaurant, and there was certainly a lot of going on, but not an inappropriate waiting for the meal that was served warm, at once and very professional. the meal included generously served and was good inexpensive. the decor is a little tired, but we had a good night.
We have previously ordered Indian style food online from this restaurant via Menulog and thought it was OK. Looking to eat out this week and we decided to try Indiyum Fair Dinkum Indian. I'll keep it short...the venue is tired and a bit cobwebby with no views compared to outlets on the esplanade. Waited far too long for the food with one curry coming out 10 minutes ahead of the second one so we basically ate separately. Perhaps the most disconcerting aspect was the welcoming comittee just inside the door. Some lone guy reading a book and chugging down a bottle of red who, despite us having a booking, rudely told us where to sit based on the 2sq metre rule and had his poor liitle pooch whimpering alongside him on lying on the cold tiles who was fed our left over chicken tikka as we were leaving. Not sure where he fits into the joint but seemed to be part of the furniture and not the ideal welcome imo. Nobody else came in to eat whilst we were there which dampens the ambience even further. Would we go back? Nope.
