very delicious menu del dia for lunch! they get a large plate of fried fish, huh or meat with kokosreis, salad and fried plantains! it costs much less than a chic place, it has a truly authentic interior and many local food...here I would recommend it for a beautiful, typical lunch! A local hotspot where we had to wait until the place is free so we sit. the traditional local cuisine was delicious and our group was very happy with our meals. we would highly recommend this restaurant.
I've been here twice for my stay in cartagena. eating is very simple and affordable. when I first ordered the grilled chicken. it was a flat hammered piece chicken breast with a little spicy. I ordered an salate. The...salad is also very simple, but it works. my friend ordered the rice with garnel. it is a very delicious dish, but it comes with surimi in it and I don't know why they do it. surimi is quite tasteless and adds nothing to the cubes. as a kind of garnish they put French fries around the plate. I don't get it, but it's less disturbing, then stick the tasteless surimi. at the second visit we ordered the rice and garnel with an salate on the side, and this time it tasted really good. the salate is very simple. only a green salad, tomato, oil and vinegar. besides eating I also liked the inner. it is like eating very basic and they could say "what they see is what they receive". just a few no-nonsense food for a good price. enjoys!
Great little restaurant but seemingly overlooked since not noted on TripAdvisor. Moderate priced dining with excellent food and nice atmosphere.
As another valet said, this place seemed overlooked when he was empty when we arrived. we went as a group of six people. we ordered from menu specials outside COP12000-15000 4.40-$5.16 usd.) each dish came with rice, curtains, tomato, salat gurken. other main items on the regular menu were appropriate between cop15000 -24000. the restaurant felt like a mom pop place, similar to a small Mexican restaurant in the usa. weinbier is also available. eating was better than expected, maybe a cut over some of the hotel food around the city in a portion size for a third of the price.
Having seen people pile into this place at lunchtime, we decided to give it a try for dinner--what a mistake! The staff must be tired out by dinner time, because they seemed insulted when we wanted to walk in. I tried to order a limonade...and they claimed they were out. I'm not sure how they could be out of limes, especially when they were putting them on top of fish, so I assume they just didn't want to make any juice drinks. Ordering off the regular menu is not cheap here, so I thought the food would at least be okay, but it was so gross. I ordered some sort of pork chop au gratin. The chop was undercooked with an unmelted slab of cheese slapped on top. The rice was overcooked, the lettuce in the salad was brown and slimy. The server had a permanent scowl. I wasn't even sure she heard me order because she didn't look at us. The only time she actually spoke to us was to tell me that tips were not included in the bill she slapped down.
