This is the best option on Santo Domingo Plaza. We had a great time in Cartagena and loved ending the day with great food at this colorful venue. As South Africans we prefer outdoor venues. I travelled with two teenage girls who had ended an 8 week exchange in Bogota. The staff were happy to make a pasta dish off the menu to satisfy a craving for a homesick teenager. We would love to return View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Cafe Milenio Cartagena:
It's a tipical tourist trap, as are all cafés and restaurants on the plaza Sto Domingo. You pay exorbitant prices for mediocre food. If you go into the little streets moving away from the Square, you'll find way better restaurants at the same (or even lower) price. It's a shame that this is happening, so just manoeuver around the square and don't let it spoil your stay in this beautiful city. View all feedback.

Old Town Cartagena is a mishmash labarynth of shops, bars, churches, plazas and government buildings with much of the 300-year building. It is a great walk even in the near equatorial heat of the coastal city. At some point, whether you follow the pretty taxis, tourist groups, or randomly land in a large area (Santo Domingo) dominated by outdoor cafés. Milenio Catagena is a favorite of locals and tourists alike. The menu, although extensive is a bit hard to find, and the servers are hardly controversial. We had enough English and Spanish to work with them on the menu. A FROSTY Cartagena brewed beer was the perfect starter. As fans of seviche from all over the region, we decided to go this route. Served in a large martini type glass, this heaping part of all sorts of fresh fish with a paleable sauce enough to fill every walker. The Seviche was good; we enjoyed better. Price was a tad high, but played on the high profile location and releative easy access. As usual in Cartagena, the road tractors interrupted us at least half a dozen times with all ROLEX watches to printed teas and inspired films. It comes with the territory. Don't miss the old town and Café Milenio is a pleasant break.
Located in the Plaza de Santo Domingo next to the Botero statue, this cafe served good food and cold beer in a great setting. The Pollo con Coco was excellent, but the bread wasn't that good and the arroz con coco was pedestrian. The dessert was some Wal Mart quality pie that detracted from the entire meal. Also the street vendors pester the bejesus out of you, be ready to say no gracias 50 times before your entree arrives. Still it was a great place for a beer.

On the main square, this tourist café offers regular meals and drinks at a quite expensive price. The situation is really amazing, but eating nothing special in fact.
