The shrimp cocktail... read more The cocktails were excellent, and the corn soup was delightful. The hamachi crudo was the best I've ever tasted—seriously, you must try it! The shrimp cocktail was solid and flavorful, and the salad was the freshest I've had at any restaurant. The Spanish octopus featured some fascinating Southeast Asian and Singaporean influences that were outstanding. Following that, we had a decent piece of halibut, but the steak was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend Solbar! Oh, and the wines were also good.

I really wanted to give 5 stars but the lobster roll totally let me down. There were huge chunks of lobster which was amazing! But the herb aïoli completely overpowered the lobster. All I tasted was herbs? and the roll wasn?t even a roll just a toasted slice of bread. While the bread was very tasty it made it pretty difficult to eat; it was a definite fork and knife situation. On the plus side the fries were crispy and well seasoned.

A friend has Gin/Tonic and liked that the tonic (Fever Tree) came on the side. We shared Sourdough Parker House Rolls (served warm withbutter). Highly recommend as not many places give warm/hot bread. The Whipped Black Sesame Seed Dip can be skipped (nothing towrite home about). The Gnocchi (lobster), Sake Marinated Cod and Diver Scallops were outstanding. The serving size for scallopsseemed awfully small (3) even though it was listed under Mains. We ordered two desserts (Lemon Cake and Butterscotch pudding)and they were both great. The place seemed a little deserted, but I guess understandable as it was a Sunday night. The staffwas very attentive. Would like to come again in the day and may make a spa day out of the trip. On a whole a lovely experience.Good fun was had by all.

I think the highlight goes to the chicken finger for kids which was much bigger than expected. I hope they keep like that because my tinny one loved it. The beet salad with chicken was good the chicken skin was crispy and verycrunchy), just the portion size was a bit small. The black cod rice was good, but there was too much mint and it overpoweredall other ingredients.
