The customer service at this restaurant was excellent! The staff were welcoming and accommodating, especially the person who prepared my salad. It was my first time trying a salad from Subway, and I made a great choice - I loved it! I ordered a spinach salad with rotisserie chicken and avocados, and the vegetables were incredibly fresh. The store opens at 9:00. I arrived at 9:47 and found the employees standing around with the lights off and the door locked. I returned to my car and waited until one employee finally opened the store. I only come to this Subway location when I have no other choice because there are limited options for good food in California, PA. The online ordering system at this location is unreliable and they do not participate in app promotions. Overall, the experience is not great compared to other Subway locations. Food quality and service both received a rating of 2 out of 5, while the atmosphere was rated a 1 out of 5.
I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism at any establishment in my life. The manager is a known drug addict who only got the job after the previous staff, including the former manager, quit because of her behavior. She spends her shifts smoking outside, discussing personal issues, and gossiping about employees to both staff and customers. It is concerning to hear about her personal struggles while my order is being made. Another employee, Clarissa, also complains about her health and benefits while preparing food, making customers feel uncomfortable. Additionally, another staff member, Heather, frequently has her family in the restaurant, causing disruptions and neglecting her duties. As a regular customer, I miss the previous manager and staff. The overall environment at this Subway location is unacceptable, and the owners should address these issues promptly. I would rate this restaurant lower than 1 star if possible.
The same can be said for her employee, Clarissa, who constantly complains about her health issues and personal problems while making food. Both of them make customers feel guilty and create a disruptive environment. It is clear that the staff at this restaurant is not up to standard. Overall, California Subway seems to have hired a staff that is unfit for the job. The manager openly sells drugs from the restaurant and has engaged in discriminatory behavior. The owners need to do better in managing their staff and creating a safe and professional work environment. I would not recommend this establishment, as it is a nightmare to visit.
Be cautious when checking your receipts at this restaurant. I recently discovered that the cashier added a tip to my card without my knowledge. I ordered three subs - one with just cheese, one with pepperoni only, and one Italian sub. When I checked my bank account later, I noticed I was charged $41.00 for my meal, even though I was told a different total at the restaurant. I didn't receive a receipt initially, but when I returned to inquire about the discrepancy, the cashier couldn't explain the charge and asked for my receipt. It's important to always double-check your receipts to avoid any surprises. Despite this issue, the restaurant is clean, friendly, and convenient.
Quite honestly the worst subway I’ve ever been to. I’ve gone here multiple times and the workers are so incompetent everytime I’ve gone and asked for my sub toasted and meat cooked the chicken is ALWAYS still cold not even warm. The restaurant is also almost always dirty. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
