I visited ZAMBELE attracted by its promise of being a corner of Cuban essence, and while the decoration wonderfully captures that spirit, my musical experience... read more I visited ZAMBELE attracted by its promise of being a corner of Cuban essence, and while the decoration wonderfully captures that spirit, my musical experience left me wanting more than I expected. The live performance was exceptional, a true testament to the talent they can offer, creating a vibrant and authentic atmosphere. However, outside of those performances, the musical selection deviated noticeably from Cuba's rich heritage. During the nearly two hours of my stay, the music of Cuba, a country known for its legendary orchestras and unmistakable rhythms, was noticeably absent. Instead, the sounds of Puerto Rico, Colombia and Venezuela dominated the atmosphere. Although these countries also have a rich musical tradition, I hoped to fully immerse myself in the Cuban experience that ZAMBELE promised. It would be wonderful if ambient music more faithfully reflected the diversity and richness of Cuban culture.
