There's two kinds of restaurant on holidays. Those for the tourists and those for the locals. That's what distinguishes choice and what fine choices we made on at least 3 occasions. Visited this restaurant 3 times in total. Service was relaxed, friendly but still very efficient. The food was amazing, from local dishes like estepada to fantastic seafood and the best garlic bread any of us have had. Cannot recommend this highly enough.
Not very eye catching compared to the other restaurants in the Marina. Had a nice lunch in here with homecut chips. Can't comment on the main meals but saw a few coming out of the kitchen and it all looked fabulous. Nice staff and very reasonable prices. Worth going to.

Advising us also on some of the local dishes. The Garlic Prawns were cooked to perfection and there local garlic bread the best we tasted on the trip. You must try the Cataplana a sort of Fish Ragu. You need to decide.... are you a tourist or do you want to enjoy the true taste of Madeira. Don't let the cafe feel put you off. Top draw service and food.
One of a parade of restaurants set overlooking the marina at Calheta.Less upmarket than others, simple decor and furnishing. Food good value and reasonable qualify. Paella on a Friday evening comes in large helpings with loads of seafood. Go early to get served whilst the paella is at its best.
Had great quality dinner for a very reasonable price and our waiter Antonio was very lovely and really looked after us.
