For Chinese cuisine, this is my favourite stop. I tend to believe big restaurant has its up and down in food quality. So for a restaurant this size, it has better control on staffing, food quality, and timing. As usual, I am fairly correct in this respect. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lucky Place Restaurant:
This is quite a busy restaurant. The food is pretty good, but the service is NOT GOOD. very slow service and they don't seem to care. You ask them for something ad give you like 15 mins later or they forget about it completely. View all feedback.

Went to Lucky Palace after reading online reviews and it did not disappoint-it's a bit hard to find-up stairs and back of an indoor mall. The owner was lovely and gave us a huge bowl of tasty soup while we were waiting for our meal. Broccoli with mushroom was delicious and highly recommend the spareribs-wish we were staying in Calgary longer to go back! Really great-go go go !!!
We have our usual company lunches there. The quality of food is always superb. I was told by management recently that they are no longer holding lunches, that was such bad news. Reservation is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
The food here is simply amazing, regional authentic Chinese food is served here. Yes, the restaurant is very basic ranging from the tables, decor, menus and service but this all adds to the charm of the place and the authenticity of the whole experience. When I visited this restaurant, it was all Chinese people, local and visitors who were eating here, another good sign. It's very reasonably priced, give it a try if you want a totally different dining experience in Chinatown!!!
Lucky Place has actually become one of our favourite venue for lunch and dinner. Except for its size (fairly small), we found the food excellent, service can be lacking when they are super busy, but it is truly worth it. Best dishes I have are: pineapple fried rice, sweet and sour (boneless) pork, stir fried gai lan with garlic pieces.
